Prince girlfriends and wives? How many wives and girlfriends has Prince had? And what are their names?
Does anyone like Prince's wife (whatever her name is, but I know her) now? |

Daaaaaaayum! You're funny, Ernest.
To answer your question. He has been married twice. First to Mayte Garcia, then to Manuela Testolini. The number of girlfriends he's had is up for debate. |

Wasn't even tryin' to be funny. I just think the question is stupid. It's nothing a google search can't turn up just as quick as fumbling through prince.org and posting a new thread, ya know?

Yeah Susan Moonsie is supposed to be the chick that he wrote "When Doves Cry" for. She was cute, I felt bad for her. It must have been hard to be in a girl group when the new girl in town (Vanity) is plucking your old boyfriend. She's a trooper though. Trinidadian she is I heard. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that? |

^ also Prince reportedly wrote "Private Joy" for her as well.
I have heard there was a girlfriend from high school who was Black. Prince was told to "lose her" by Warner Bros for his image.
I think her name was Kim. And someone said she did a cameo appearance in Purple Rain. Could someone post a pic or tell me the part she played.

Ohhhh...so is that the reason that he "ditched" the sisters? For his career? Doesn't suprise me.
On another board we were just discussing a interview that Prince did where he lied and said that his mother was Italian. He also said that his father was part black and part Italian. Prince would sell his soul for his career. Damned shame. Oh well. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that? |

Sharon Oreck was the producer of Sheila E's Glamorous Life video and she was quoted in a recent interview saying that when they originally chose a Black boyfriend for the car scene, "they" (WB maybe) told them they had to use a White guy. Exacctly. Which is why I always have "doubts" when Prince is parading around a beautiful woman. Who knows whether most of those women are really romantically involved with Prince. Notice how Prince is one of only a few stars who NEVER get the terms of his divorces leaked out.
I believe none of what I hear, and half of what I see. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that? |

I do remember reading an article back in the day where Prince was "pining" after Patrice Rushen. Anyone remember that? She was short like him and played a lot of instruments. But, apparently, she turned him down....same thing with Latoya Jackson.
I have little doubt that some of the women he paraded around were simply for "image" and "show". Some thought he had a certain "type," but I always thought it had more to do with finding females that looked like better looking versions of himself. He has dated Black women, though: Cat, Troy Beyer, Nona Gaye (did he really date Ananda Lewis or were they just hanging out?) I know he had a crush on Cindy from En Vogue (she was married and couldn't be bothered). I'm sure I am leaving out a few...

Yanno, I was discussing this in another post and someone else also stated that Prince tried to "get with" Patrice Rushen. I googled it, came up with nothing. I never heard that before these boards. Was it in some magazine during the 80'? How did people know about this.
Patrice Rushen would have made Prince feel so insecure. He is generally heads and shoulders above the rest of his women in regards to talent. Patrice would have given him a run for his money because that sister is unbelievably talented. She writes, arranges, records, and I believe she even produces. She did some awesome stuff with the "Unrapped" CD's where hip hop is converted back to it's original source (jazz / r&b) great music there. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that? |

Old news about Patrice. I think the first time I heard it was an interview with Patrice. She was asked was it true that Prince wrote a song for her.. and she said yes. I think the song was I wanna Be your Lover. She thought the song was not... hmmm right for her. That is how she answered the question.
Then I heard that Prince did like Patrice and wrote a song for her but she was not interested. Back in those days, he tended to seek out the company of beautiful TALENTED women. Sheila E great drummer, Patrice Rushen great pianist. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack |

Did he write the song for her "to sing"... Or did he write a song "dedicated to her"? Not sure what you mean. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that? |

If you think about her singing "You Remind Me"... She probably could have done a damned good job with "I wanna be your lover". Maybe she didn't wanna deal with those "suggestive" lyrics. Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that? |

Yeah, that is what I got from her comment. Patrice never really got into the sexy image. She was more cute, warm, laid back and very capable and talented image... but never overtly sexual. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack |

The Alex Hahn bio mentioned that Prince and Lisa Coleman briefly hooked up once. But who knows if that is really true, though Prince did write that song "Lisa" about her. I'm trying to imagine what that supposed pairing would've been like because Lisa is so statuesque, and Prince is so bite-sized.
Kinda interesting how both ending up dating a Melvoin twin around the same time. "Fancy lesbian" hooks up with real lesbian, and later dates her girlfriend's twin. Sounds like a soap opera plotline.
BTW, when was the last time anybody used the Fat Albert emoticon? ~Using the Fat Albert emoticon 'cause no one else is... ~ |

Yes Kim Upsher was her name. I don't know why but her name crossed my mind this morning and I looked her up on facebook. She looks like an older version of the waitress in First Avenue who Morris told 2 keep the change and then sent Jerome 2 go get it when he and Appolonia were having drinks. Maybe that's her? |
