I posted on this before. I actually broke down and bought it. I bought the tape a while ago (not when it first came out but when I first discovered Ebay). I had no idea what was on it. In fact, I might have just gotten it for free by buying the Apollonia 6 tape. I finally broke down and bought the download and I like it...a lot! It's a very fun and consistent pop album. Not very ambitious. And a cover of "For Your Love" isn't a totally embarrassment. It's got a really good sound.

But I'm sure this album sold poorly (perhaps worse than "Apollonia 6") and it had no Prince involvement (although Warners released it...guess they kept the contract after all). Does anyone know if there is any story behind the digital release of this. Could no Prince involvement be the key? Was there a demand? I know that for years WB has kept the mid 70s Cher albums (including the fan acclaimed "Stars") in their vault with no response, so I don't think this is WB just releasing all their vault stuff or something (because if it was....wouldn't the Cher albums among others be a more sensible place to start). Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this mysterious release.

Her solo album is terrible....just a bunch of lame,unimaginative dance tracks with those annoying late-80s production gimmicks.By comparison,the Apollonia 6 album is a masterpiece.

It is cookie cutter, but its slickly produced and mainly just alot of fun. I prefer it to Apollonia 6 easily. That was just dull and tired 2nd rate Prince material for the most part.

I like it even though it plays it VERY safe. It's fun. But I can understand some people really disliking it. At the very least she didn't try to replicate Prince's sound. That would really be bad.
