Those people should buckle up, Mint Condition will blow the lid off the place. This is the first time since The Time that Prince had a supporting act with the musical chops to raise the bar before he hit the stage.

watch Larrys recent show from Paris's Le Bataclan
and tell me you wouldn't wanna hear and see that hate him all you like-he's a legend on the bass with a superb band and set and all the bitching in the world can't taqke these things away from the guy you REALLY wanna just see Prince-and NOBODY else EVER? thats plain sad-closed minded and rather dull-i mean what do you wanna do-only watch-listen to and discuss one man all the time man how boring is that

Unfortunately most Prince fans are bellends who see Larry Graham as the devil. The fact is that the man is superb live and won't lecture you in his shows unlike Prince.

Larry's awesome Some of the funkiest jams I've seen Prince play were with Larry on stage. I'd gladly go see this funky duo anytime

Oh naive one. He doesn't have to because he's got Prince doing it for him. Think about it! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I've said it before and I'll say it here:
Larry Graham - the bass player, leader of Graham Central Station - funkiest man around. Great music, fun songs, incredible musicianship by everyone involved, awesome albums. Larry Graham - the Jehovah Witness brain-washer. Annoying as all fuck, and needs to sit down. You have to separate the two. (Someone mentioned all this recently, but I forget who, but it summed up my earlier sentiments.) The difference between LG and Prince being JW is that LG NEVER wore it on his sleeve in his music. When he's on stage, he's LARRY MOTHERFUCKIN' GRAHAM on BASS. When Prince is on stage, it's Prince the self-appointed prophet, not the bad ass we knew asking us "Does anybody know about the 'quake?" Prince can't separate the two, despite his pleas of his inherent twin personality as a Gemini (that's what he gets for believing in that nonsense astrology). LG can at least separate his religion and his right thumb.

Larry Graham is the inventor of slap bass... didn't just change funk... it changed all music... jazz, rock, everything...
few people have had that level of impact... [Edited 5/19/10 7:24am]

lawl it's just as believable as jezuz. I think it's great that Larry Graham is opening, but even better that Jamie Lidell is.

IF I were going to the gig, I would definitely make certain that I missed Larry on stage. He is legendary funk, and that's exactly what all his performances are, the same old ass music.
I also can't stand it that he and his wife helped to brainwash Prince. It would be so nice if he retired and moved back to Oakland where he belongs.

Y'all need to get off Larry's dick for his religious beliefs. Do people give Mavis Staples shit for singing gospel? Do people harass Beck for his Scientology? When Dylan went to the wailing wall before making his BRILLIANT "Infidels" album, did people talk smack?!
Back the fuck up, and let the man play his bass. He is a legend, no matter what his religion may be. Occupy Alphabet Street!

I'd like to see them each play their own set separately without the other one present onstage with them. Andy is a four letter word.

I don't think the neverending slow synth ambiant "JesushelpmeGodforgiveme" part on the Purple Rain Tour was really bad-ass either... You mix getting old and getting religious (which he already was) IMO. A COMPREHENSIVE PRINCE DISCOGRAPHY (work in progress ^^): https://sites.google.com/...scography/

P was religious before he became a JW he just did not have t he structure of organized religion which he may really need. By all accounts he seems to be a better person. You got a lot of people on this board that are straight atheist and that is their right but because they have those beliefs they refuse to see any of the good things religion has done for people who are troubled. I believe P was definitely troubled and this JW stuff my have really helped. You got a lot of fans who want to see P miserable so he can make better music. Which is really sad?

I HATE it when people, for their own selfish reasons, say they want P to be unhappy or pissed because they think it will make for better music. What a horrible thing to wish upon someone. Even though I don't get with the JW stuff, I do think Prince found comfort in it and most of the JWs I've met, including Larry, are very kind people.

Well, there's at least one GCS album where the liner notes are rather JW-heavy. And back when he converted, his interviews became a lot of JW-talk. © Bart Van Hemelen

IIRC He had a nice house on Hawaii or some place like that. BBC's "Dancing In The Street" interviewed him there, separate from the rest of the Family Stone. © Bart Van Hemelen

Didn't stop fucking around. Didn't stop exploiting his fans. Didn't stop suing people for dumb stuff. Exactly HOW did he become "a better person"? © Bart Van Hemelen

The only good thing is did was stop or slow the cursing. Otherwise he needs to get out of The Cult.

Everyone is excited when they find a new way to live their life that is life changing for them. LG leveled out a bit on it. Prince is still head first into the ocean of religious separation.

Didn't stop fucking around. Didn't stop exploiting his fans. Didn't stop suing people for dumb stuff. Exactly HOW did he become "a better person"? ----- I am a fan and I have not been exploited by Prince and I doubt that many fans in the entire world feel exploited. You know Bart there is a world outside of Prince.org with loads of hard core and casual fans who don’t give a shit about Lotusflower this is obvious since a low level of members seems to have doomed the project. You can only be exploited if you want to be exploited. Who has actually been sued by P? The Baby lady was battling with Universal not Prince and she had the option of taking the dancing baby down instead of proceeding with a pointless case. Outside of that can you think of any fans not business associates that have gone to court and lose time and money because P sued them. Because right now he is the one being sued by others. I don’t know if P fucks around and I don’t care because unlike you I am not that invested in this artist that I need to know if he has an active sex life. If this is what you sit around thinking about seek help. I am sure that like a lot of people you think all Christians have giant wings coming out of their backsides and therefore are not allowed to make mistakes. Well your wrong as a core tenet of Christianity is the fact that we all are sinners no one is perfect but all can be forgiven if you acknowledge your wrongs. By P’s own interviews he has stated that he has not always been a good person, was immature, and was not respectful to woman. Those comments concerning his behavior are considered acknowledgement of bad behavior. By the comments from some of his associates he has mellowed out over the last decade. It is unfortunate that for you nothing P does is going to be good enough and I just hope you are so perfect that you never slip up or make mistakes.
