And I like his older material, in fact I own a couple of his old masterpieces. Shall we talk about Larry again ? Prince is not in my 'real life', so I don't need to get all worked up about stuff I can't control, I have enough trouble controlling what I can! 
As for Larry, his recent shows sound great! I saw him perform in Miami before the Super Bowl and even though it was a sparse crowd, he and his band still worked HARD and they truly love the music and entertaining folks.  | |

I suggest you read her posts in this thread and notice how she pretends Prince never ripped off fans (I guess those complaints at the BBB were completely made up), among other things. Also notice how it's never Prince's fault, it's always some other company that handles his affairs yet somehow "went rogue" -- as if Universal et al aren't doing what they're doing because Prince told them to do so. © Bart Van Hemelen

I have said numerous times that P is a poor business man and he needs to leave these ventures alone or find investors or managers to run it. I actually don't believe he starts these things with the intention of ripping people off I just think he has no idea on how to run a business. He gets board with it and drops it. I have said it a million times. I have also said that people need to take some responsiblity for their own actions. Instead of wasting your time coming to Prince.org try disputing the charges with your credit card company or going to the BBB or just stop being a customer. Anything but coming to this board and repeating the same crap over and over again. A lot of people are starting to sound like crazies who cannot tear themselves away from an artist who they feel is ripping them off. | |

As much as Bart is acerbic in his replies, he speaks the truth. If Prince sets out on some new business venture, especially as an independent artist who doesn't have a record company team running the venture, then when something goes wrong, it IS his fault, 100%. The folks at Lotusflow3r didn't drop a ball. Prince did. There are still people who never received their t-shirts. A simple thing, but it was promised. It was part of the deal. Consumers shouldn't have to sign up for something with a laundry list of guaranteed goodies, then have to expect only half of them will be fulfilled. There's a point of saying "Well shit happens", and then there's "This is some bullshit!" If Prince wants such a tight reign of control on his stuff, then even moreso he's put himself in the seat of responsibility 110%. So when it comes to the failure, it's Prince's responsibility to right the situation. But what does Prince do? The same thing he's done every time something goes wrong in his business or persona life - TURN A BLIND FUCKING EYE. "Out of sight, out of mind" is his M.O. Prince is in control and has the power to effect change, but he doesn't. Chain of things, my ass. That's a cheap way out, and one that Prince has obviously not only adopted, but became the poster child for. Yes, SOME fans feel they have been ripped off, while others don't. I have never felt that in any way, shape or form and have never had any problems with any of his web ventures all the way back to CB.
That's your personal experience. You don't "feel" you've been handled wrong by the shenanigans? Well good for you then. You're one of a few that feel that way. Your feelings are irrelevant though, and that's not a slam against you. Business is business, and Prince is really bad at it. | |

Who has actually been sued by P? The Baby lady was battling with Universal not Prince and she had the option of taking the dancing baby down instead of proceeding with a pointless case. While this isn't an argument on downloading and file sharing, it is about how a band handles their business and carefully balances that with communicating w/ their fan base. Those who want to believe that U are an expert on Prince's personal life are entitled to do that. I just happen to be one of those who does not feel the need to agree with some of the things U post.
