Sorry, (but as a die-hard Jimi devotee) I hear a LOT of Jimi on "Naked Soul". "Jupiter Landing" is so reminiscent of "E.X.P" off of "Axis". And "I Miss", "Cry Like The Skies", and "Saturn" have the Uni-Vibe drenched chordal stuff Jimi did all over "Rainbow Bridge".

Jesse is his own man and has always been a guitar hero in my book, but he knows the Jimi schoolbook well. And "Naked Soul" features a lot of it.

nod
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

You got that right. I have a bunch of Jesse live recordings and he covers alot of different Hendrix tunes in concert. That and seeing 8 of the shows in Vegas in 2008 made me a true believer. I always liked Jesse, but finally seeing him live in concert.WOW And this was a Time show where aside from his spotlight(which might have been the Coolest thing ever) He still had to fit into the band mode. His version of the Skillet with the complete solo plus added on solos and obscure Hendrix riffs was one of the best moments of my entire life. I was also fortunate enuff to see him play a half hour of straight up Hendrix covers and I'm not talking the normal stuff. Dude was throwing in Band of Gypsys and rainbow bridge stuff. Just the man and his guitar

So yeah Dude know his Hendrix, Dude can play his Hendrix, but he still has his own style that I love

You're right Rhastus. I remember Jesse had a live 10 min version of "Power Of Soul' on his 'My Space" page and he was destroying the guitar.

Those live clips of him online from 94 smoke also.

I am sure I will get lynched possibly banned from this site by saying this but I think Jesse absolutely DESTROYS Prince when it comes to guitar playing. I just wish Jesse would do more as far as albums, tours etc. Keep it going Jesse!! Its a shame nobody know who he is outside the Prince world.

AND I STAND w/U ON THAT ONE!!!!!
