I don't care what other Org'ers (Ogres?) say; I went to see Larry at the 013 in Tilburg (NL) last night and funk was off the scale!

The man is 63 but has more energy (and spring in his step) then most of the 36-year old's I know smile

Last night was particularly cool because he let about half a dozen of students at the Tilburg Rock Academy sing and jam on stage with him. You should have seen the look on the face of the guy who got to play Larry's bass; him thumpin' and pluckin' and Larry working the pedals headbang

Man, what a night...
Welcome to "the org", mazze… you've got an ass like I've never seen, and the ride is so smooth... u must be a limousine. --- Okay... I wil l just take that as a compliment...

That's some serious bass. I don't think anyone could ever deny Larry's mastery of that instrument.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

He is the best bass player ever. No wonder Prince worships him so much. How would U feel if U can become friends with Prince and watch him in action?
eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

Larry doesnt get the respect he deserves. I was getting a little tired of him with Prince in the 90s but I never hated or disresspected him the way so many Prince followers did and still do.

That is because they blame Larry for Prince becoming a JW. Anybody that has been a fan of Prince for as long as I have should know Prince has his own mind and was always looking for a spiritual answer to the truth. They feel Prince musical output has suffered. Because he doesn't sing about getting laid or cuzz anymore. That is childish. Most of Prince followers haven't grown up alone with Prince. He is 51 now. I feel Prince has become even more successful since he converted to JW.

But U read the comments here. U would think Prince has lost his mind and in an insane asylum.... They don't look at Larry was a very successful bass player for Sly & The Family Stone & in his own right. He heavily influenced Prince musically. He was drugged out and turned his life around for the better.

It is based in ignorance and a lack of respect for music history. Larry is one of the most important musicians of all time. He changed the way the bass is played in rock music. There is a good argument that he is the Jimi Hendrix of the bass.
