Gone too soon. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

She died from a brain aneurysm in 1996. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Boni was amazing. Her vocals on 'The Line' are off the hook!!!
She is definitely missed and we were blessed to have witnessed her talent. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Boni Boyer (Bonita Louisa Boyer) (July 28, 1958 -December 4, 1996) Bonita Louisa "Boni" Boyer (July 28, 1958 -December 4, 1996) (Singer and musician) Boyer contributed back-up vocals and played a wide variety of instruments for Lionel Ritchie, Tony! Toni! Tone'!, Con Funk Shun, and Digital Underground. She was perhaps best known for her work with Prince on the "Sign O' the Times," "Lovesexy," and "Graffiti Bridge" albums and related concert tours. A fellow classmate of Sheila E., Boyer was replaced in Prince's band with Rosie Gaines. Boyer passed away from a brain aneurysm. Laura Branigan also died of a brain aneurysm. It's so sad. If you're having a terrible headache (a symptom of a brain aneurysm), wouldn't you go to a doctor to get it checked out? I find it tragically sad that these two great singers didn't seek medical help. If they had, they might still be with us today.
Edited to say, that I just looked up "symptoms of a brain aneurysm" online, and learned that some people who have a brain aneurysm have no symptoms of it. So it's very possible that Boni didn't have any symptoms, and died suddenly. bad grammar edit [Edited 3/12/10 14:09pm] RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
