To be more specific: it was reported that Prince said in an interview (when? where? I'm quite surprised any journalist would ask him such a question) that he didn't play on it.

But Prince says a lot of things and the why & how of why he would have been credited if he didn't play on it is a mystery, so unless Sonny T. says something about it we'll never know 4 sure.

SoulAlive

Not sure when exactly when it was released, but here's some info for those who don't know what you're talking about (lol)....

Extremely rare (original issue) independently (self?) released 1979 funk album featuring Prince produced in the Twin Cities. I've heard that this is Prince's first recording. It's also a very nice example of late seventies funk with magnificent spacey sound effects!

It is generally in nice shape. The jacket has some shelf wear on the top and bottom (see photos) but the cover and back look good. The record has some light surface scratches. There are some small, VERY quiet pops in the first 30 seconds of "Get Up" but otherwise the record sounds fantastic!

I found this at a thrift store in the Twin Cities years ago never thinking much of it. It's hard to part with it since I love Prince. But.....Bills.
The tracks are: Get up Higher Feel good to ya Got to be something Here Dynamic Duo Mr. G

Ask Pepe Willie why it is important to have Prince's name splashed across any record (no matter how little he may or may not have contributed) that has been dug up from the pre-Minneapolis Sound era in the 70s.

I'd like to hear this album. Not neceassarily because of Prince's involvement,I just like alot of music from this period (late 70s).I bet there are some funly jams on this album.
