Did you guys know that Jennifer Beales auditioned for the Apollonia role? In 1983,she was riding high with 'Flashdance'...I wonder how she would have fared in Purple Rain?

Actually, Jennifer was approached about the role but declined because, after Flashdance, she went back to Harvard. She chose school over Purple Rain. I've often wondered if Gina had gotten the role, would the group be "Gina 6?" And if Jennifer took the part, would they be rechristened "Jennifer 6?"

Appolonia was perfect for the role, i cannot imagine anyone else. She had an innocent about her that was endearing.
