I like every song on the album. im close to fam level with andre. I love every song on the first album too. However, when I first bought it, I hated most of it. I had heard the first song "Kelly's Eyes" on the radio (which by the way, the 45 is slightly different from the album version and has double handclaps which sound great). I liked "Kelly's Eyes", remembered that Andre had previously been in Prince's band, and bought the album. When I first listened to it, the first track that stood out to me was "So Fine". It was more like what I was expecting to hear when I bought the album. Lots of the tracks were much more new wave/rock sounding than what Prince was doing. Since Andre had been with Prince, I guess I was expecting the first album to sound like The Time's two albums that had been released at the time. I rarely listened to it back then and never knew the second album existed until I saw it in the record store. The second album got no radio airplay in my area and when I saw it, I didn't buy it because I had not liked most of the first album. Then, I heard "The Dance Electric" from the third album and it had more of a Prince sound, I bought the third album. Years later, when I got bored with R&B radio music scene altogether, I pulled that first Andre Cymone one day out of boredom and played it in it's entirety. Actually, I was recording it on a cassette so I could have it in cassette form (the vinyl era had left and cassettes had taken over for those of us who couldn't afford CD players yet). Having to play it in it's entirety to make the recording, as well as being older in age with more expanded tastes than earlier before, I fell in love with the entire album and now it's my favorite of the three albums. Andy is a four letter word.

there is nothing worse than hearing a slamming track from an artist only to find out that there is nothing close the particular song on the rest of the album.
i know what you mean about the new wave/rock style. i was a bit dissapointed when i heard ritz club and voice on the radio for the first time. eventually those songs grew on me and i would also rank living in the new wave as my favorite from andre. i really enjoy the soundscape that he created on A.C. but the overall rawness and direction of the first album give it the slight edge. You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

I really like the 'A.C.' album alot.Side One is a masterpiece, especially "Book Of Love" and "Pretty Wild Girl" (the greatest Minneapolis slow jam that Prince never recorded). "Neon Pussycat" is another favorite.A superb album!

So in addition to wanting Andre's music on cd I've alsop learned that you should never find a black man attractive or you are stereotyping him. Learn something new every day. I'll make sure to be PC and find all black men offensive from now on.Thanks SOS!

Yeah, you is being well racist. I am going to start to call all black men ugly now so that I don't sexually objectify them.

Not at all, like I said, there's a long standing pattern within andy's post and I really don't want to continue to go off topic on this thread. I've spoke my mind and am comfortable with my comments. Feel free to disagree if you wish but let's all be adults here and acknowledge that some non-blacks fetishize people or aspects of the black culture. If andy does (or doesnt), well...that's a personal conclusion we can all draw. Right? Again, I don't want to talk about this anymore so can ya move on now? Space for sale...

It's a little bit arrogant to ask us to move on when you raised the issue, isn't it?
Getting back on track, I'm not feeling this track. And Andre didn't have half the stage presence that Prince does anyway as a frontman.

In general, Andre is sooooo sexy. He and Prince look alike, but only Prince is short.

I am soooo feeling that comment. I understand why they have playlists, but I'm not trying to hear the same people over and over again every ten minutes. And it's even worse when they play the same one "gospel" song and then play a "come f@*k me song immediately after.

Those outfits are ridiculous - even for the 80s. You almost cant take them seriously if you look at them too long.
