There are two different people here:

1) The Larry Graham of Graham Central Station as well as the solo artist. This Larry Graham redefined how to play a bass guitar. He did it with Sly Stone and he did it on his own. If you just go and listen to albums like Ain't No 'Bout A Doubt It or Release Yourself, it's incredible music. Everyone in that band contributed something amazing to those songs. GCS has its place firmly solidified in music and funk history.

2) The Larry Graham that is a Jehovah's Witness. S-T-A-U-N-C-H, staunch. (Anyone get that reference?) He's the one everyone dislikes, because people view him as really effecting, negatively so, Prince's music, songwriting, and down right way of living. While we're all for more positivity and having our + sign today, we're not for having one of our favorite artists edit himself to the point of being embarrassing in public, on record, in interviews, and otherwise. That's the Larry Graham that is a joke.

If Graham had never gotten involved with Prince to the extent he did, and effected Prince's music, we'd all still be heralding him as one of the greats from 40 years ago. Yet we now see him different. Cunning, almost ego-driven, and a "Right Fighter" (fighting to be RIGHT all the time, opposed to living and let live) - which sort of sums up Prince at this point. Prince has become a bigger ego than ever, and it's not even musical. It's his chemical trails rant. It's his nonsense ramblings like a lunatic savant. He's Stephen Hawking and Rainman all rolled into one. Many would blame Graham for bringing this imbalance out in him. To some extent, that's probably correct. Who knows if Prince would have been exposed to the rantings of Dick Gregory, a theocratic order of women being less-than, and almost downright anti-semetic, or otherwise had it not been for Graham and his "guidance"?

25 years ago, Prince peformed a birthday concert at Paisley Park. When someone shouted "Happy Birthday!", he simply said "Thank you". If someone did that today, what do you think he'd say? That's Graham right there. That is the Graham people hate.

Graham the musician is great. Graham the Witness is a crying shame. If we separate Prince from his religion (when folks say "Oh I love the music on The Rainbow Children, but I can do without the preaching"), then why can't we separate Graham from his eternal "guidance" of Prince, and just enjoy "It's Alright". Because ultimately....isn't it alright?

Tamar had the best voice out of all his proteges. She had actual talent. The problem with some folks, and why the industry is so bad today, is you have manufactured. no talent ass, bimbos that can't sing for sh*t, f*cking up the industry, while those with real talent are bypassed. The industry is run by males, so naturally they'll go after no talent females who they consider have the looks consumers want, yet half of them can't sing for shit live, and once consumers find out these no talent, has-beens, can't sing live, they don't last. Talent lasts, looks fade with age.

The problem with some ignorant consumers in this society, when it comes to supporting talentless/manufactured artists, is that many of them are hung up on looks themselves, and are attracted to the "looks" of some artists, moreso than the supposed talent of the manufactured artists that many of the record labels promote "as real talent". The support from those consumers' helps to justify the talentless bimbo sh*t the music industry promotes to those particular consumers. So they'll just keep giving the consumers more of the same.

Example, how many times have you seen people on this site state that certain artists don't sell as many albums because of their "looks" and that the music industry works harder to promote, (especially females with a "particular" look), female artists with a specific look. They're like here today, gone tomorrow artists, and then they'll seek out the next fly-by-nighter. The music industry knows who will buy the BS they try to promote. It seems today, an average-looking female with real talent, no matter how good her voice is, will be passed over for someone who has the music industry's "specific" look, with mediocre talent.

The same tactic seems to be no different than the modeling industry and its effect on many young girls. There's a lot of societal brainwashing involved, which affects many young and older females interested in a modeling career, about what the ideal female should look like. So it's the fault of these industries and the consumers that fall for the brainwashing BS and buy into the greatest lies ever sold.

Okay, enough already. Prince is his own person and has always been. People really need to stop blaming LG for how Prince is now. What happen to personal choice? This is an adult male that we are talking about here, not some naive child. Prince is still in control of Prince. And with that being said, It's Prince who should be held accountable what Prince says/do, not LG.
Also, I thought this thread was about who was the worst female in Prince's world?
