I'm glad she's found peace. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

This is the first i have really listening to her testimony since she came out of the whole "Vanity" facade. Wow.....i can relate to a lot. The whole God speaking to her as a child and so on. We are all "Prodigals" in some ways. [b]struck down but not destroyed. What the enemy intended for harm, God turns it around for his Good/Glory - the whole thing on forgiveness.....powerful! When we learn that forgiveness is not for the ones that have hurt us or done us wrong, but for "ourselves" to be set free - the healing begins. Only in Christ.

The 700 Club--talk about political manipulation disguised as friendly religious-outreach! What a crock! No better than its predecessor--the PTL Club (Pass The Loot)!

True. Add a little conservative fundamentalism, wacky conspiracy theories, healing hocus pocus, homophobia and crazy-ass Pat Robertson. It's another scam for Vanity. The first was having absolutely no musical, singing, acting or dancing talent, and somehow becoming a star(?).

"Spiritual walk" aside or whatever mumbo jumbo you want to use, if you attach your name to a homophobic right-wing nutjob fundamentalist propaganda machine, you deserve criticism. At this moment, the 700 club is blaming Haiti's tragedy on vodou. I realize this is old footage, but the "club" has not changed their reactionary views since Vanity appeared on the show.

It isn't mumbo jumbo. Not sure what you believe in, or if you believe in any sort of higher power at all, but spirituality is powerful, and shouldn't be dismissed so casually, particularly given everything this woman went through. She has appeared on several religious shows and networks speaking on her spirituality and her walk. I don't think any secular talk shows would be interested in "Vanity" or Denise Matthews nowadays, so this is the type of media she used and uses to get her story out. Her views do not necessarily reflect those of Pat Robertson, The 700 Club, or whomever. It is not her fault that they think the Haiti earthquake was caused by voodoo. This was years ago, and she was there to tell her story. "Get up off that grey line"
