I was thinking that if I was to spend an hour talking to any of Prince's exes and could talk about anything except Prince, the person I would find most interesting to talk to would be Mani.

She seems to be the most mysterious and one of the most intelligent. I think I could keep a conversation going with her for a long while and never mention P.
So, if you have any stories about her I would like to read them. Thanks.

I could not sit down and have a real conversation with Mani. Not that I wouldn't want to, but I wouldn't be able to focus. This would be all I would see...

I don't think the problem with Prince not finding the "Right One" is the women that he's met. I think the problem is the "#1" itself, Prince would much prefer a smorgesborg. Unfortunately the Bible he reads frowns on that, saying fornicators shall not enter the Kingdom. Prince can't change the Bible. Prince also seems to have a tough time changing himself. Rumor is that it was his roaming


that caused Mani to file for divorce. It's rumors, purely rumors, neither party has come forward to confirm or deny it; but given Prince's past it;s easy to see why so many of us believe that he did have an affair while he was married to Mani and that she left him because of that.

Mayte's divorce was final by the end of 2000, so is it fair to say that Mani was his girl by December 2000?
He was very into being a Jehovah's Witness at that time so I doubt that he had another hidden anywhere at that time.
He married her in December 2001 in Hawaii and they were both practicing witnesses. I think because of this he tried to "be good" longer with Mani then with all his other loves (Susannah, Mayte, Vanity ). When I look at the pictures of him with Mani at the lakers Game Christmas 2004 (they are the ones where she has the crochet sweater on) they look so happy together and I think he may have been true to her still. Somewhere between then and May 2006 it all came apart.

I honestly think that Prince was faithful to Mani for as many as 4 years. This may not seem like much, but we are talking here so this is like a miracle. Despite writing "Forever" for Susannah I don't think he gave his relationship with her anywhere near that kind of effort.



When he wrote "Cinderella was a waste of time, then woops she's out the door" in Future Baby Mama, I know he was talking about Mani. He seems a bit bitter, like maybe he had hoped she would be more foregiving.


Anyway when he married her he really believed that he would be faithful to her for life, he may have been one of the only ones that believed that, but I really think he thought that he could and would do it. If she was a total dullard he would have never made a commitment to have her around forever.

O.k. people you have not been loving on my thread here. Why? Is is that she is no longer in the way of you getting to "your" man? Or do you really have nothing to say about her?


I wasn't around while she was married to the guy so maybe many of you are all talked out by the time news of the divorce came. But someone must have met her. What was she like?

EVERYONE, his parents, sisters, women, friends, even the guy he studied the Bible with to become a Jehovah's Witness is in showbizz.
Mayte was one of the few windows that he had to the real world IMO that was truly part of his inner circle. In his life at least, she was a one of a kind.

Since he prefers to have an air of mystery usually his women are mysterious as well. The fact that bria comes to org is a signal to me that her love affair with prince is over. The thinly veiled self serving posts about how talented a singer she is how bsautiful she is and how happy she and prince are sound desperate and subject to ridicule. Which is what happens

i will have to check my COME CD. Wasn't that released in 1993? Mani was only around 17 then. Probably not even yet in College.
I know she is mentioned in the credits on the New Power Soul CD. She is mentioned as having to do with the nonprofit he had at that time. I have no idea if his non profit is still up and running since she left.

Anyway mentioning someone that had nothing to do with the music on the CD is strange, especially for someone who in the past often did not list musicians that actually were on the CD.

I have really always wondered about Manuella as a person. Just the most curious one. The others seemed to want fame and fortune. I think she had her sights on one very specific celebrity. Was she that goal oriented and lacking in virtue to, as a very young woman, go full speed ahead after a married man?

I don't even know how often her family traveled outside of Canada before she left Toronto to move to Minneapolis. Mayte was a soldiers daughter and had traveled alot. She also had appeared on stage alot when she was still a child. That in no way equalled the fame and attention she would get as Mrs Nelson but certainly she had already developed a public face so to speak.


The whole Mani thing is unlike anybody elses relationship with him. Not because of who he is but because of who she was.

Prince always likes to be in a four way relationship with women ... he juggles them. His fame and money helps him get away with it. I don't think he will ever find "the one" that way. I don't think he even wants to.

IMO, I don't think Kravitz dated her because he seems to prefer white women. I think he made an exception with Lisa Bonet because she was biracial like him. Contrary to popular opinion Prince has dated black women although not in large numbers.

Well someone orgnoted me and let me know that Prince's charity is still up and running. It's called LoveForOneAnother or is it Love4OneAnother, something like that. I do not know what the focus is of Prince's charity. Manuela's is deffinately children. There are some new pics out there.
I hope with this thread I can push myself to learn how to do things like post video's and pic etc, I am kinda hoping to do a series of threads, one at a time on Prince's women. I want it to be about who they are now aswell as there time with Prince. Jill Jones and Susannah Melvoin are the next two I would like to tackle.
