Krystal Rivera: The Vanity of "V6" Motion Picture

In 1982, the explicitness of Vanity 6 caused many a mother to cringe as their young daughters emulated Vanity, Brenda, or Susan in their bedroom mirrors; however, Vanity 6 lives on in the hearts and memories of steadfast fans and is the genesis of many of the girl groups that captivate the youth of today.

“V6” is a made-for-television motion picture in the making that is based on the lives and times of the famed trio. The film is now being produced for a cable television network and is in its development stage. “V6” promises to produce a genuine look behind the purple curtain at the bold women who emanated confident sensuality and rocked the stage in revealing lingerie before any other act dared. These women breathed life into the fantastical imagery lurking in the minds of men and their collective chronicle is filled with the brand of drama you would anticipate from a pop iconic group with the musician Prince as their headmaster.

Krystal Rivera will star in the docudrama/musical. The twenty-year-old Atlanta-based model/actress has been selected to portray the seductive songstress Denise Matthews, better known as Vanity. Born Krystal Lucricia Rivera to a Puerto Rican and Black father and a Puerto Rican and St. Thomian mother, the exotic young siren embodies the sultry spirit that once defined Vanity. The filming of the “V6” movie is expected to begin in New York City in late 2010.

A Vanity 6 biopic?

This movie will never get made.For one thing,wouldn't they need permission from Prince to use songs that he wrote? He would never approve this.

Oh, it will get made. It will probably just be really, really, really, really bad. Take one "really" off if they can get the rights to use Prince's music.Good luck with that. An "Unsung" episode will suffice, imo.

Totally hope this happens... but it looks like a publicity stunt by Riviera... Who knows, maybe Apples or Brenda (her husband worked in film, yes?) are behind this in part? Unless P has masterminded this to sell some back catalog since he's pissed off all his fans and hasn't had a proper hit in years?

Also, they would also have to get an actor to play him because you couldn't have a Vanity 6 movie without a Prince character in it. He would lose his damn mind trying to shut that film down. You just think the youtube thing was something, that bitch would be having a heartattack over this movie.

Anyways, its a shame this will be shut down before it even begins. Hope not. 'Bout time someone did a movie on this. Prince has slept on this one long enough. Don't this dude want to make any cash during the recession or what?

Also this Krystal Rivera chick is pretty and has the right look to play Miss V.But my question is this.....you have to have some kind of content or script.And who was consulted for true content?

Brenda Bennett is IN on this project I'm really interested in this though, as we know both Prince and Denise Matthews would not want this movie to be made. Who knows how Susan Moonsie feels about this.

just another comment about that site-the one thing that annoys me is the video. They only mention Vanity 6, but in some of the clips, they show Apollonia 6 please tell me the people making the damn movie can tell the difference between Vanity and the woman who tried filling her shoes?

Okay,folks. I've got the scoop on this one. The producer of this film is a millionaire who produces movies for cable tv. He lives in Laguna Beach, CA. Morris Day lives is Atlanta, GA. I was personally told from the producers over a year ago that Morris hired Nuance World Media to manage the project, but the production company is a very big one and has cooperation from HBO, which is Warner Bros. Turner Broadcast Systems (TBS), which is based in Atlanta, owns Warner Bros. and HBO. Contrary to rumour, Prince doesn't own the masters to Vanity 6's material, Warner Bros. does. If Warner agrees to the project, Prince will be walking around with the word "SLAVE" on his face again. May have to get the black Sharpie ready! I love Prince, but gosh, people give him WAYYYY too much power.

And, yes, Rosario Dawson,from what I understand has shown interest in the lead role.
