Seems to have gone very quiet on the new Family album front.

Will this ever get released?

It's still happening. Paul tours off and on with Oleta Adams (he does stints w/ Kenny Loggins as well). I knew the holidays would be quiet on the Fdeluxe front. I remember in early December that Susannah was running to the studio to work on a new song she had come up with, so I think they're still finding those final 1 or 2 songs to make the album rich and full. He IS working on it. Mixing down an album takes time. Tweaking songs and creating ambiance takes time.

It will happen, and I truly believe it will be spectacular.

We need to keep on them about this! Let them know we're still excited as the day they announced. Maybe push for a tour or at least a show or two with Wendy & Lisa.

We don't need to keep on them about anything. They are fully committed to the project. They know the fans' excitement, because it's the main reason they are back together. It's not a passing fad for them. Remember, most of these folks have kept in touch and been friends through the past 25 years. Once they got back together, they were full on committed to completing it.

A tour takes lots of $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $ $, of which they don't have. They might end up as a support act, or might do a few one off gigs here and there, but I wouldn't look for any sort of major under taking from them, unfortunately.

St. Paul is in Tokyo this week for a run with Oleta Adams. Not sure when he'll be back to the US, but it'll surely be soon.

Her site is horrible UN-updated, so who the hell knows what her schedule is for that.

It would be nice to maybe hear another song, The first track I heard was good but I'd like to hear if they've got anything funky.

Did you hear the demo of "@ 8"? that was very rough. I watched Jellybean lay down a live drum track for that, and watched Paul do adlibs and rerecording of other vocals on it. It's a LOT more rich and full bodied.

"Drummers and Healers" is going to knock your socks off.

The first track posted on their Myspace page "Sanctified" was WAY funky! Can't wait to hear the whole album! Some shows with Wendy & Lisa would be very cool!!

Over the Canyon and The Vigil also sound amazing! I think they need to somehow find a way to get a live show or two in when this album drops! They leveled the Family Jamm and people need to know what they can do live!

I haven't heard anything off the new album that wasn't amazing, Over the Canyon is the classic Family sound updated perfectly!

LOVE The Family, but the Fdeluxe name is really hard to get used to!

When I look at the name Fdeluxe all I can see is FuckDeluxe. Bringing to mind a great one night stand. The imagery of Paul and Susannah's hotel photo shoot last year added to that I guess. But thats just me.

Anyway, yeah I'm anxious for this too, but completely
understand why it's taking so long, especially since
they're apparently funding it all themselves.

Keeping fingers crossed that they come out with
this album in 2010
