I think past Sly reunions have been sans Larry. But you never know. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

How can anyone, but Prince, answer this?

I can already tell you how their 40 minute set will pan out:
Band comes on without Sly and grooves for 20 minutes Sly comes on, mumbles his way through songs After 10 minutes, he says "I gotta take a pee" Band plays for 10 more minutes His new album is mainly old songs re-recorded. Er, I'll pass...

Either Sly & The Family Stone w/o Graham
OR Graham & The Family Stone.....

I didn't know that anybody felt comfortable trusting Sly to show up for anything to actually book him. There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

You're wondering if Prince will show up?
I think the real question is...will Sly show up? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

While I'm glad that Sly has reappeared in the world, the clips I've caught of his performances are a bit depressing.
As for the relationship (or lack of) between Sly and Larry, that's the deciding factor in Prince ever showing up to one of those things. Considering his influence on Prince, you'd think he's show up to check Sly out at one of his gigs, but then there's Larry. I suggest a peace summit between Sly and Larry. I think the pain of their past friendship needs to be let go. Who would be right to moderate though?

Well if Sly is trying to make money sueing people he may really not have to show up at all. He can just sit on his and watch festivals on his DVD player and not have to do a thing.
Sad only because the man was uniquely talented and although others are influenced by his sound their is no other Sly. Love watching old clips of him and that huge shit-eating grin of his. I saw Sly and The Family Stone in concert two years ago,and it happened exactly the way you described it,lol.I love Sly,but I accept the fact that he may be finished as a performer.I wouldn't pay to see him again.

I've noticed that the Family Stone are doing some touring on their own, without Sly:
The Family Stone Plays a Generation Worth of Hits at John Ascuaga’s Nugget The Family Stone harnessed all of the disparate musical and social trends of the late 1960s, creating a wild, brilliant fusion of soul, rock, R&B and funk that broke boundaries down without a second thought. See the Family Stone on Saturday, February 6, in the Celebrity Showroom at John Ascuaga’s Nugget. Led by Sly Stone, the Family Stone was comprised of men and women, and blacks and whites, making the band the first fully integrated group in rock's history. That integration shone through the music, as well as the group's message. Before Stone, very few soul and R&B groups delved into political and social commentary; after him, it became a tradition in soul, funk, and hip-hop. And, along with James Brown, Stone brought hard funk into the mainstream. The Family Stone's arrangements are to this day considered ingenious, filled with unexpected group vocals, syncopated rhythms, punchy horns, and pop melodies. And it’s through those traits that they cranked out mega-hits such as, “Everyday People,” “Dance to the Music,” and “Hot Fun in the Summer Time,” among others. The Family Stone performs Saturday, February 6, in the Celebrity Showroom at 8 p.m. Tickets are just $32 and are available by calling (800) 648-1177 or (775) 356-3300 or by visiting janugget.com. Dinner and show packages are available. [Edited 2/2/10 5:36am]
