This song is just fucking terrible.

Yeah, some of those 80s synth-based songs haven't held up well. That's still a good set to have. There's some great obscurities on it.

This particular track isn't probably one of the best examples if you wanna dive into Andre's solo work, but there are plenty of great tracks on all 3 of his albums, plus his work with others like The Girls and Jody Watley. Well worth checking out.

Well, some music is timeless. The songs with trendy electronic instrumentation and lyrics that are descriptive of a certain point in time will always have a dated feel as the decades progress. A piece of music with more traditional instrumentation and lyrics with vague references in regard to a song's place in history usually stand a better chance at becoming classics. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, but generally that means a certain amount of kitschy nostalgia is associated with a track.
