Wendy's backwards vocals Purple Rain tour.. On the Purple Rain tour, between "Darling Nikki" and "The Beautiful Ones" they have various backwards sounds and singing (not referring to the "Hello, How are you?/I'm fine...etc) but AFTER that. There are backwards vocals of Prince singing "Dance Electric" in harmony, but after that there is a backwards song of Wendy singing something? What song is she singing? | |

Get thee a cassette tape. Record the passage. Cut out the passage in question then turn it over. Splice it back in with Scotch tape. At least, that's what I did when I was 12 and had the same question. It's not a song . . . it's a bunch of weird passages that don't make much more sense forward than backward. And not all of it's Wendy - there's something that sounds like Matt perhaps saying "Must not want it!" or something, and then Wendy singing and then lots of doves. I don't remember it all . . . this was a LONG time ago. But seriously, if you have a cassette recorder you can replicate the experiment and report back to us.  | |

Yes. I've already turned it backwards with a wave file editing program. I was asking what song she was singing? Was it a song of Prince's or what? | |

the short answer to this question is... it's Lisa. 'Dance Electric' was a song given to andre cymone. but Lisa said all that weird stuff was her...and i say...yeah, of course.

I promise its Wendy. I think its been so long since Wendy and Lisa heard this stuff that they don't remember. It is Wendy's vocal because EVERYONE knows the difference between Wendy and Lisa's voice. I SWEAR its Wendy's voice that I am talking about. Lisa has a softer voice. If Lisa said that, she must be talking about the backwards vocal harmonies she did at the beginning of Dream Factory song. I believe Renata to the fullest since she gets her source from practically the horse's mouth and if she said its Lisa then its Lisa.

I checked this by reversing the sound on my computer... Yes... It's from "The Dance Electric"... and it's clearly Wendy's voice... singing "When it comes 2 dawn, a light of truth will shine, and baby you will fall..." | |

I've heard all the backwards tracks too and it sure sounds like Wendy!!  Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council. | |

My friend Renata is checking it out right now. I just sent her the sample of what I was talking about and she said now she is clear on what I was speaking about and she said Lisa wasn't sure by my description what I was speaking of. She is contacting them right now and she said she will have an answer ASAP. You got to keep in mind we are asking about stuff that happened briefly 25 years ago! Lol | |

BOYS and GIRlS: Renata just emailed me with the official answer: Wendy and Lisa both said it was Wendy! At first, they thought it was Susannah but Wendy and Lisa ended up saying it was Wendy. I never meant to make a big deal of it but I hate giving or receiving innacurate information and I know each one of their voiced. | |
