When was the last time The Time released an album of all new material? Were they suddenly due for one in 2009? Did you hear something we didn't?

The Family is working on theirs, that's why. St. Paul is in Tokyo for a few days w/ Oleta Adams on tour. The album is in its final mixing stages. Susannah even added a song late in the game to have a richer and fuller track listing. I've heard about 4 or 5 songs from the record, and it's delicious! It'll be worth the wait. Jellybean, St. Paul, Susannah, and Eric Leeds are all fully involved in the album. Paul and Susannah are producers, but all have written and played on the album.

FDeluxe.com is the new site, and their name (sans .com of course). Believe me when I say.....when this is ready in a few weeks, you'll know about it. Albums come when they're ready, and when the artist is ready. Obviously theirs isn't there yet.

As far as The Time.....who the hell knows. They're a touring band at this point.

The Time made very public comments after their appearence at the Grammies that a new cd was coming in 2009.

Actually there are 2 albums in the works 4 The Time. The planned reunion album by The Time (featuring the original members) and also an album by Morris Day and The Time (featuring the current band) was gonna be released as well in 2009. I won't be surprised if I hear that the reunion album is very close 2 being done and the other project is almost finished, only time will tell. Let's just hope Jamie Starr* is not the hold-up and he's part of both projects.

I'm not even sure that a new Time album would be any good. The best songs on Pandemonium were still the ones written by Prince (Chocolate and Jerk Out).

I know that individually they are capable musicians and songwriters (well, Jam & Lewis and Jesse), but they've yet to prove that they can make a decent group album without the help of a certain Jamie Starr.

A this point,I would rather that the first two Time albums get remastered, with bonus tracks lol

I don't think a new Time album would be that good, anyway.

wow. I love people who second guess an artist before hearing what they do - good or bad. You really DON'T know till you hear it.
I even keep hope alive Prince will drop something good again lol

The best songs on Pandemonium were Blondie and Skillet. Written by Jesse,Jam and Lewis. See Thru is a very good song and I have no doubt they can make a good album with or with out Prince. Now if Prince wants to drop some Jamie Starr material circa 1982 I'm all for it, but if its like his more recent output he can just stay away as far as I'm concerned.

Wasn't there some album "about to come out" ten years ago?

Rhastus, I recall you talking about an upcoming Time album about 10 years ago on amp, you'd even heard it. Whatever came of that?

Wouldn't mind the third album either. Or a release of the tracks that were left off Pandemonium.

Screw the new albums, it's clear they can't get it together and even if they do it's not going to be the Minneapolis Sound, so we won't hardly like it. I'd rather have some reality tv shows like Jacksons Family Dynasty only with Morris Day and The Two Time Bands.

What was it called? I've got "Old Dogs, New Tricks" in my head, but Google Groups is teh suck these days, so I don't seem to find anything relevant. So i'm thinking I might have misremembered the title.

That sounds right "OLD DOGS, NEW TRICKS" - an album by MORRIS and THE TOURING BAND (No Jesse, Jam or Lewis)... my guess is that it got shelved in favor of the "LIVE" album credited to MORRIS - "It's About Time".
