I've had this album in a few different formats (cassette, MP3 downloads) but I just recently purchased a CD copy and have been enjoying it a lot.

The poetry lyrics are what they are (and I enjoy them from time to time) but I find myself really paying attention to Prince's background music . . . there's some really unique sounds on this album.

Anyone else like it?

I heard a couple songs from the album... Ingrid Chavez has to be THE most BORING Prince side-dish.

The backround music is decent though. It would make a good instrumental album.

Love it. One of the most individual albums released on PP. Some of the mixes on the singles are great too. Can't wait for the new album.

About the Prince music - considering it's during the album era (and Carmen Electra "era"), it's interesting to only hear a few common styles from those projects. Still, they're sprinkled in there in spots.

Agreed that it might be one of the most "boring" side projects (hate to use that word), but at the same time it's one of the most unique and interesting ones.

It's a favorite of mine - as stated above, the music was quite different considering what Prince was doing with other albums at the time. The beat-poetry-meets-funk should be explored by Purps more often (I also love the Poet 99 tracks for this reason). I never get tired of May 19, 1992 and most of the remixes. Some of the "clubbier" sounding mixes didn't age well, but still get plenty of play. I searched high and low to get all the promo and commercial CD-Singles and EPs related to this project.

Love this album. I always thought Hippy Blood should have been as big as Ice Ice Baby (it kind of steals from that song). One of my favorite all-time PP releases.

Seriously? I don't hear that AT ALL. If anything, I hear nods to Edie Brickell or even a bit of Siouxsie and the Banshees.

i really enjoyed this cd the spoken words mixed with mellow vocals something different and nice coming from prince camp excellent cd

never heard it but i did hear one track once which i 'think' was her and it was awesome. It had lots of clare fischer strings and what sounded like a woman crying on it. i have no idea what the track was.
