For me, I'd switch that list just a tad:
1. Every Shade Of Love (it's truly versatile and very under-rated in its recognition of song writing skills)
2. Shockadelica (just funky)
3. Revue (the typical, but still awesome first post-Prince/Time solo record)
4. Bare My Naked Soul (It's tough to get into when you know Jesse as a funk guitarist type artist)

I've listened to the first half of Verbal Penetration. It's quite good. Much better than I had expected. I've not delved into the second half just yet.
