you probably wont like it if you are hoping that it sounds anything like the first album

Terry Casey doesnt even sing on half of the tracks (G-sharp shares vocal duties. he is a good vocalist tho) and they are all in the newjackswing style (stripped down instrumentals with extra reverb on the kicks and snares)

hit up youtube and search for

"the woman thang"

and

"the saga of man"

if you dont like those tracks you wont like the rest of the album seeing how there are only 7 other songs beside those ones.

I would say it's definitely worth tracking down if you are a Mazarati fan.

It has some killer tracks, like "Words", "Up All Night", "Don't Leave Me Baby" (which is from the sessions from the first album and was originally the B-Side to '100 MPH') and "One Girl" which is a good ballad.

Overall, it's not as good as the first album but still decent. It has some jams.

If you're a Mazarati fan, other stuff worth tracking down includes "Champagne Saturday" - a great instrumental that was the B-Side to "Stroke", the Mazarati demos of "Kiss" and "Jerk Out", and there's about an album's worth of other unreleased tracks including "Little Mazarati", a cover of "Come Together" by The Beatles, "Aggravation", and "Candy Sweet".

Beyond there, there's great extended versions of "Stroke" and "Players Ball", Prince's demo of "100 MPH" as well as the 7" edit of the Maz' version, a 12" of "The Woman Thang" that includes 2 remixes and the instrumental.....and if you're a HUGE Mazarati fan, after you've gotten all of this you could move on to the live bootlegs (audio and video) lol lol lol

barf While the debut album is fresh and distinctive, the second album is a run-of-the-mill late 80s New Jack Swing fiasco. These tunes could have been recorded by anybody.

The Washington DC rehearsal (audio) is really good too. Not a bad soundboard.

Thanks for the info.

An Extended version of Stroke definately sounds worth tracking down.

When are the outtakes from the first or second album?

There's an alternate mix of "Words". It's like a radio edit but slightly remixed - must have been mooted as a single.

I haven't come across an extended version of "Stroke" and don't believe one exists - there is the promo single remix.

The Washington DC stuff is interesting as they run through "Kiss".
