I would say no, but only she can answer that.

However, she would probably disagree w/ the lifestyle based on her religious beliefs. Yet there are Christians who are gay-friendly, so again...she'd have to answer that.

It doesn't make for homophobia but if her current look is any indication there's not a gay dude within 5 miles of her.

I can't stand that whole "lifestyle" shit. And care even less for the whole "My bible tells me so and so, but I still love you and want to be your friend. You're lifestyle is between you and God.". biggrin Well, we know what your bible tells you (or what you're picking and choosing to uphold from what it tells you) so it comes across like "pity" false love to me. It comes across as "Oh no, I'm not judging you...but I know who does :points to upwards:."

Keep it.

I truly find that reasoning offensive.

As a Christian (with Jewish grandparents) I find that shit offensive too...its' like 613 damn commandments in The Bible...but folks wanna pick and choose what suits them as a sin...please, I have had to tell many a church friend that as long as you sittin' up scarfin' down the shrimp in that damned pasta, hatin' on people for what they got that you don't, and oh my damn,no you DI-IN't put heat to food on Sabbath, you are not above reproach for anything to be passing judgement on anybody else around here, and furthermore, since you wanna play pick&choose to admonish people for being different from you, before you stick your foot in your mouth and ass furthermore and forevermore, your rip-roaring, divisive behind needs to take a clue from Mark 4:39 & follow the advice there which translates into common sense English as sit your ass down somewhere and shut the hell up confused confused confused

No worries...I'll be talking to G-d directly to see if he/she can erase some of the "Express Ticket to Hell" points I may or may not have accumulated with that
profanity filled statement...but, at least i didn't lie about how I feel

Are you guys serious with this topic? This obviously belongs in the P&R section. Otherwise anyone could start any random thread with "Is _____(fill in the blank celebrity's name) 'homophobic'" and start threads.
If it doesn't have anything to do with their music, style or how they are associated with Prince and/or their contributions, it doesn't really belong here.

I get it. Remember, I've lived on both sides of the fence w/ this, and I've heard every way of saying it, etc. I have to believe their intentions are good, but when you're the person that is the target of those intentions, it's a whole different story of course.

The forum title says Associated Artists & People.
Talk about ex-bandmembers, ex-girlfriends, etc...

I don't see where it says what specifically folk may or may not discuss about them. confuse

It's a weird draw. Started w/ Vanity, and is kind of turning into a general homo discussion.

Oddly, when I have homo discussions, it's usually in a towel, or a steam room. LOL

Well, yes it started with Vanity, but the question was whether or not we thought she was homophobic. A silly question to some maybe, but I don't see why the person that started the thread can't ask it.
As far as the thread going off into a somewhat general discussion on the matter...well, how many threads stay 100% on topic?

The list of BADLY dressed and BADLY made up and haveing BAD hair, Christians is a long one. Those Texan Mormons with the long braids, Tammy Faye, the crazy laddy who has taken Tammy one step further (I can't watch her on T.V. for more then 5 minutes). Vanity was lucky; she started from a very high point so even half way down she doesn't come close to the rest of them!!!!

Okay, since y'all are going to continue this mess. Let's look at a couple of things:
homophobic. What is "homophobic"? The fear of gay people? Is she afraid of gay people? Highly doubtful. The problem that most religious people have with gay people isn't FEAR. Only dumb, backwoods idiots actually believe "duh, if I let my kids around them there queers, they's gone catch the gay"
That could be considered "homophobia" in that they actually have a belief rooted in fear of the individuals themselves.
So its a reasonable assumption that she's not AFRAID of gay people, given her exposure to Hollywood.
Does she disapprove of homosexual behavior? WHO KNOWS? WHO CARES? If she doesn't like what gay people do, DON'T SLEEP WITH THEM. Its that simple.
Either way, there's nothing anyone can do about it whether she feels one way or another, so what's the point in discussing it other than to deter it into a politics and religion discussion on the associated artists board?
Just for that, I'm posting some music to get things back on track:

I did comment on the subjects (Vanity/Homophobia) at hand on this thread, above. biggrin

You posted once to state how ridiculous we all were for discussing the subject. It may not upset you at all but yet you felt compelled to return and re-state the sentiment and attempt to steer the thread in a different direction.
