I can't stop playin this song since I found it yesterday. I heard and love the music the girls did after Prince with Seal, and the scores for "Dangerous Minds" and "Soul Food", but this is another trip altogether....

thanks for that. Love the tunes, but sinceI randomize my music daily..it had been a while. Now I'm going to put their whole library in rotation.I feel they got slighted by an industry that loosened up and stated putting a push behind intelligent female bands in the mid 90s. They got left in the dust. Glad they are still making music.

This is about one of the last, if not THE last, concerts by The Revolution on the Hit N Run Tour. It was after "Sometimes It Snows In April" or something, and Prince was moved by the song, and Wendy's playing (or something close to that....been a while since I've read the story)

I found this the most personal lyric in the song. She's flat out saying that while Prince was singing about love or the end of the world (a la "1999", etc), that she was singing to him, because both girls loved him so much as a friend, music partner, brother, etc.

For me, this is an line that directly calls out the story Prince used to tell about W&L adding "color" to his songs; Prince even used to talk about how Lisa could play two notes with one finger - she just hit so many keys and made the most beautiful chords

I have this album and "Song About" is one of my favorite songs by Wendy and Lisa. It's a great song "written by a couple of great girls" (remember how Wendy said that line in Purple Rain?). Love those girls.

I always thought the line about "Beautiful, you said" referred to the song "The Beautiful Ones" which I think was about Susannah, Wendy's twin, so in effect he was saying they are both beautiful.

I heard this song on an obscure radio station waay baack in the day - this song was the reason why I bought their first LP -

My number one favorite by W&L. Along with "Stay", that tune has been on consistent rotation in my music collection since it first came out

I like this song...it's very sad and reflective.

I always thought this song was about Wendy and Lisa's relationship but Lisa could have been talking about Prince also
