'Skirt'  Chris's guitar solo on it is amazing, as you'd expect...

first couple of time albums at least were recorded like cloreen bacon skin with Morris on drums and vocals and prince playing along on bass. Prince later added the guitar keyboards and backing vox etc. They were bSucally live jams in the studio at first. Morris also plays drums on partyup Nd the extended part of lets work 12". They swapped drums during that single live take and recorded it as u hear it, no editing. | |

That's Morris that's talking on "The Walk". On "Wild and Loose" and "777-9311" Dez is singing backup vocals along with Prince and Morris. Also on "Wild and Loose" that's Prince who asks "Hey hey, u guys going to the party tonight?" On "Grace", that's Morris talking. On "Tricky" that's Prince talking imitating Morris while Morris is laughing. That's Prince talking on "Chocolate" Prince is singing back up vocals on the entire albums of The Time and What Time Is It? Lisa is also on backup vocals on The Stick (which she wrote the music). MY favorite one out of all of these is on the Vanity 6's album on "If A Girl Answers", that's Prince talking through out the whole song imitating Morris. I swore that was just Brenda trying to sound manly Straight Jacket Funk Affair

I personally don't hear Prince on that speaking section, never have. P's voice, when he's imitating Morris, is more "raspier" sounding than Morris's. Morris has a smoother tone in his voice than when P is doing his "Morris" voice. Morris was always more laid back in his delivery where as P's delivery was more edgier and more animated. I like how you have them switching back and forth though.

Nobody mentioned the end on The Walk, when Price interrupts Morris and Vanity. That part for sure is him.
I'm with black, though, I've never thought that was Prince during the parts about "the days of dancing" and the "baggies".  I don't think that is Prince at all.
My favoriter are Prince's ab lib runs on "Get it Up", "Cool", "Girl", "The Stick". In fact, even though I knew Prince was involved, it wasn't until 1991 on a trip back from Memphis when "Girl" came on the radio and I was like  I went straight home and played all The Time's shit like  . All those years, I knew he was behind the scences but never paid attention to his vocals on the records. Probably because I never really paid attention his vocals at all.I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired! | |
