U know, when I first got this album and saw the track listing, I thought "Jesse put a track called "Uptown" for these motherfuckers?!" biggrin "What kind of shit is this here?! Uptown?! Damn Jesse." But when I played it, man....coldblooded track. Very nice piano fills, cool progression. I've always liked this track. This whole album reminds me of this girl I was dating at the time. Funny how certain albums attach themselves to a person in your mind. She never raved about the album or talked about it at all for that matter. I would sometimes have the cut "Wasn't I Good To You" or this song "Uptown" playing in my ride when I would pick her up to go somewhere. So because of the time the album was out and me seeing her, I just link it her.

nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."

If you look back over Jesse's career,he's put down some slick ballads
for some of the artists he produced. He was more than just a rock-funker.

When i first heard Kool Skool's My Girl,i had no idea
Da Krash had evolved into this group. I didn't realize it
until i heard You Can't buy my Love and saw them on video
soul.

Jesse Johnson sure knew how to come up with a slick R&B ballad, when i got wind of these kats i KNEW they were SERIOUS.....I wish they could have stayed together because they would have murdered the industry along with Jesse Johnson. Did'nt the lead singer get into trouble about child molestation charges?? If i remember correctly.

Yes that and the musical climate change is what led them to
transforming into Kool Skool a couple of years later with a
new lead singer. I think DaKrash lead singer was named Robert
Jordan. Their debut album was pretty good. I agree these guys
could have been special. They certainly had the musical chops.
