Yeah, as much as I love this song and my boy Andre did a good job on it...I STILL wish P would have kept this for himself and released it as his follow up title album to Purple Rain. I would have loved to seen him skip completely over the ATWIAD album and released The Dance Electric album instead! biggrin To have this released as P's new single after the PR tour?! Ooooh shit, that would have been sho' nuff BANGIN'! That would have been a straight hit. He could have then included "She's Always In My Hair" on that album and released it as an A-side single as well and NOT as a b-side. He also could have included "Hello" as an album cut. Kept 100 M.P.H for himself instead of giving it to MZ and put that on this album too!

cool I wouldn't skip ATWIAD, but I think an album between PR and ATWIAD would have been good. I think maybe he worked so hard 82-85 that he got tired of that sound... I'd want Moonbeam levels and Extra Loveable on there too. nod

For me, Dance Electric is the song that "sums up" Prince... if it was possible to do that... I mean it's funky, spiritual...

You're welcome cool I've heard just one version from 11:42, but answered your question twice because how it was asked lol.
Anyways with my sillyness. The version i heard sounded somewhat fuzzy, if that's what you meant.

I agree!! Imagine if Prince followed up 'Purple Rain' with a kickass album titled 'The Dance Electric' in the summer of '85.The title track could have been the first single, with an amazing video. It would have been incredible!! ATWIAD is an album that confused many listeners and it's not an album that I revisit very often.

Other songs he could have used: "ExtraLovable","The Scream Of Passion" (as a duet with Sheila E.),"G-Spot","Electric Intercourse" and a few other songs from that era.

I love this song also.
I love Prince's best.

Thanks for posting. Never saw this video.
It's a shame that a lot of these dudes were not styled differently.
They were destined to come off as mere "wanna be's".
