The model is protrayed with the same expression on all of them, and it sounds like there is no complicity with the photographer... Where is the human emotion that P. expresses so divinely in his music? To me, in these pictures, Bria appears like a doll, a perfect doll from her toes to her hat, beautiful & lifeless. Just my perception, but maybe I don't get the aesthetic experiment he is trying to deliver... I wasn't going to comment, I don't particularly like the Bria bashing that goes on here. She is a tall girl and so are most models. I believe she is only 5'9" so that is not very tall, most models are 5'11" Prince is the photographer and so a bit of constructive criticism won't hurt and is intended to help him if he needs it. I don't care for the props in this picture... they are cheesy to say the least. The hat seems to interfere with the painting in the background. The candle holders are distracting. The glass table is well... yuk! I also would have preferred Bria look into the camera than away, this way there is some interaction between the viewer and the subject. She could express her emotions to the viewer rather than the disconnect. Prince is the photographer and we all know how overtly sexual he is, she could have had at least expressed some of that instead of looking away. [Edited 8/29/09 12:09pm] Most FEMALE fashion models are around 5'9". And 5'9" is really tall for a woman, the average height of the US woman is 5'4". The average height of the US man is 5'9". So you see it makes no sense you can't say a woman is "only 5'9" tall". http://en.wikipedia.org/w...man_height Naomi Campbell is 5'9.5", Cindy Crawford is 5'9", Kate Moss is 5'6.5", these 3 were SUPERMODELS, and none is 5'11"... See, most models are NOT 5'11, really few of them are, most are around 5'9". Giselle Bundchen is the only one 5'11" i can think of right now. 5'11 and up is for MALE models. The British Association of Model Agents (AMA) says that female models should be around 34-24-34 in (86-61-86 cm) and at least 5 ft 8 in (1.73 m) tall. The preferred average dimensions for a male model are a height of 5 ft 11 in (1.80 m) to 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m), a waist of 26-33 in (66.04-83.82 cm) and a chest measurement of 32-40 in (81.28-101.60 cm). http://en.wikipedia.org/w...ion_models [Edited 8/31/09 16:56pm] [Edited 8/31/09 16:57pm] [Edited 8/31/09 17:02pm] [Edited 8/31/09 17:05pm] [Edited 8/31/09 17:10pm]

Considering the amount of women Prince has renamed and then created albums for I wouldn't consider her a puppet. That would be insulting to all the others who accepted a stage name and embarked on new careers(Carmen,Tamar,Vanity,Apollonia). Is she gonna move in with P, working on more stuff with him, someone else, is she back home to start all over...? Considering the source here it sounds as if Bria isn't history and we'll hear more of her. An actual performance, Bria live on stage? Oh, if only we could be treated with that. I couldn't be more curious... That second pic with the hat reminds me of Mayte somehow. She's just going home because there's nothing else to do and she tryna stay close to the hand that fed her. I doubt we will hear more from her anytime soon. I mean think about that funkberry bit...no mention of working in the studio, performing live, and on top of it a little "wink" tidbit about eligible bachelors needing to follow her. So basically, she aint working, nothing is goind down in LA (where all the movers and shakers are) and she's unattached. Oh well...she's paid and she has her family. That's really all that matters. I still say she should do more modeling. I love you DesireeNevermind (so funny) but I don't like Bria's hat. It makes me think of a muppet character the way it stands out in front of that picture.

A while back someone who was obciously in Bria's camp was talking about Prince being an older man running around with a bunch of different femailes like an OLD hound dog and questioning his actions jiving with the JW way. (This was in early spring when people were rumoring that prince was retracing his steps with the bikini model from South America and then shortly after that the theater actress who could be Mayte's twin.) Those posts just seemed like someone was trying to shame PRince into sticking with Bria because she was a "good JW" woman not a heathen like these other women. True that... Not true... Mayte before the baby and divorce... yes definitely yes, Mani, before getting married... hmmm maybe. I bet his forbidden seduction (and hers) was mind blowing No, not Bria. It doesn't even seem like they are really together. He was much more into Mayte, and Mani. Bria really seems like a business associate who reads more into it than what it really is. Honestly, that is my opinion. I don't hate her, I don't want to be her. I think her SINGING is just okay.. but most of Prince's protogees's singing is just okay.. so Bria is on par with the rest. She just doesn't look like the typical Prince girl because of her stature, and size. She does have a lazy eye And she or her friends are very annoying with the fake posts about how they love the way she sings on track #4 (or whatever). Prince's 'side' projects are either good or bad, this one imho and obviously others opinion on here is just shit. I have no reason to give a shit about Bria. Either way, no love, no hate. Just a mediocre singer who Prince fancies and then expects his fans to accept her with open arms. Well it doesn't really work like that P, no matter what you promised her.
Put out good product, we will love it, put out bad product we will be critical. The same as any other commercial art form. The creator cannot control the audiences response. It is part of the deal. And she DOES look like a tranny. NOPE. and as 4 prince putting out protegee's, he's been doing it since 1981. not everyone likes the time or sheila e either, but the constant bashing since tamar is beyond reasonable imo. so the questing stands, if u don't like bria or any of his other protegees, then Y R U POSTING IN A THREAD ABOUT THEM? ♥ Feeling Purple Rain...Don't hold on 2 the pain, hold on 2 the memories ♥

When I talk a few minutes to closely look at Prince Picture (Bria_Orange) it reminds me of the Mona Lisa, La Gioconda also known as La Jaconde. I’m sure that you all know this famous painting that represents the femininity and her virtue. In this instance, the picture and the new age embody variously the femininity. Bria look intently somewhere beyond the spectator and is staged profoundly to evoke, stimulate dialogue between the piecework and the spectator. We also know that the Mona Lisa is an enigma. What is the enigma in (Bria_Orange) ? Let’s talk about the Aesthetics The Photography creates a representation of a woman whose expression is described as distant and enigmatic it also depicts the sitter before an imaginary landscape. In this Art Picture The Mona Bria gaze is not fixed on the observer, she stare off into space, it create the visual impression of distance between the sitter and the observer, and it also open up to the imagination because it is absolutely at the mirror phase; the dimension of the ego. Thus, the composition of the figure evokes an ambiguous effect: we are attracted to this mysterious woman but have to stay at a distance as if she were a divine creature. There is no indication of an intimate dialogue between the woman and the observer. Of course that brings you to other element of the picture. Bria face is practically framed with various much darker elements (hair, shadows, orange felt hat, frame and the painting) that also lead up to observe even greater extent. She sits markedly upright with open arms that gently, most certainly reach for a sense of touch to the fragile seat, the table mirror, which is also a sign of her reserved and delicate posture. The candlestick and her posture as a dividing element between the model and the viewer, she is portrayed seated in what appears to be an open loggia with dark pillar bases, that is represent by the candlestick, on either side. The poses create an asymmetry and hide the other candlestick. Witch to my opinion strive for a second lurk. (Look beyond) What is the message Prince? Ah! Eurêka!!! She stokes me with her light....Bria face is practically framed. Why would that be? Would it be to announce something, to emphases something else....how would the artist do that and why? Why, why, why As I said before The Mona Bria face is framed to amplify this part of the model it also obligate you to look carefully and notice her orange felt hat that is adjudicate with the another paintwork. It contains other shape and gives a bigger impact to her hat, perhaps it has a purpose. To my interpretation this hat looks like The Three Musketeers would wear. Then I reassess my overall view and interrogate myself about the title of the photography. And it makes perfect sense the hat is orange. Could this be the Milady Clarick de Winter character in The Three Musketeers interpretation? You must know that this character as a double score in The Three Musketeers. I like Yak Rivais portrait of the Milady Clarick de Winter because he describe her as a woman enamored for liberty in a man world where the woman is an object that is played and scorn. I also this photography for its intelligence. This lovely dress reminds me the Switzerland Dome of the Federal Palace, with the motto in the central part that says "One for all, all for one" Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno a Motto. It is a strong and beautiful artistic photography and mostly, certainly a great complicity between the model and the photographer. Prince could have named this picture The Mona Bria or another title but maybe he have chosen (Bria_Orange) as a sentimental purpose. love is my color when I am shown love in return. ... ...

A woman?? oh dear, Let me explain, a tranny looks like a man dressed up as a woman, most are men who just like dressing as women, some (transexuals) actually want to be women and have had breast surgery and and actual male-female reassignment vaginoplasty surgery. This is quite different than an actual tranny. End result most (not all!) look like the local butch builder with a wig and lipstick on. The best have tell tale features like a square jaw, big shoulders hiding underneath makeup and over styled hair. Like Brian... ok? Anything else need explaining... "My God it's full of Stars"

Just corrected your post so people get that "why do people say she looks like a man" is your question I understand why, although I would never have thought about it if no one had pointed it out. It has nothing to do with her not being attractive or anything. It's simply the fact that she is very tall and big (not fat!) and has a prominent jaw line, high cheek bones, an elegant nose and she's always wearing lots of make up and uber feminine outfits. All these are features that make the typical drag queen.
