For those of you who were fans of Ingrid, if you haven't already checked out an artist named Vanessa Daou, you may want to do so.

Her sensuous spoken-word style echoes Ingrid's, and her trip hop-meets-Prince-meets-techno productions, by her husband Peter, are smooth, slinky ad often dance-able. Peter's done work with artists like Janet, MeShell, Pet Shop Boys and others. They're a talented -- not to mention very good-looking -- duo. Check out their site at www.vanessadaou.com.

I have her debut "Zipless" and really liked it. But I couldn't stand her follow-up album so I stopped buying her stuff. I heard that she's back on track again though.

Yes... her second album is the weakest. She's got five solo albums out now plus her debut with a band called The Daou. You should pick up that debut, entitled "Head Music" (though it may be out of print) as well as Vanessa's 3rd solo album "Plutonium Glow." I think you'll love those.

I don't have any of Vanessa's albums, but I have heard quite a few of her songs, and am quite taken by them

Maybe it's time I bought an album or two of hers!

Vanessa Daou is tight. I have all of her CD's and they are fantastic. Far better than Ingrid Chavez.
