Yeah! This brought back memories. I forgot about it (and it's Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis touch) over the years. Nice. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Yep Jimmy Jam Terry Lewis, I forgot Jerome started doing stuff with them when he time with Parade was over I can't find this song anywhere I gotta buy it It's interesting how it's a combination of the Minneapolis sound and the sounds that came out of the ATWIAD/Parade era finger cymbals and some of that carnivalish syth/strings sound(which they used on Janets 1st 2 albums too) Thats how we did it in the 80's

I didn't know that Jerome had released a solo album in 1987. Is it any good, is he a good singer? When he was in The Time and The Family we never really heard him sing. Who does he sound similar to?

The track is from the album "Keep Your Eye On Me" by trumpet-player Herb Alpert, who also co-owns or owned A&M Records. The "Fishnet" video by Morris Day is another one from 1987 in which Jerome appears, singing background and playing percussion.

remember Herb Alpert - Diamonds (with Janet Jackson)? http://www.youtube.com/wa...Y_DJoHIe3w performed with the Revolution. Appeared in videos and TV appearances by Janet, Herb Albert and other artists and he performed with the "touring" version of the Time from 95-06 and did shows with the "original" band in 08 and 09

But yeah, Jerome mostly did stuff with her and Jimmy and Terry after Parade. "Get up off that grey line"

After 'Under The Cherry Moon',Jerome made a guest appearance in Janet Jackson's "Control" video, which angered Prince.Jerome soon found himself kicked out of the Prince camp, but A&M Records gave him a recording contract.A planned solo album never materialized.I'm not sure what exactly Jerome was gonna do on the album. He's not a singer or a musician Maybe he was gonna attempt to rap?

How do you go from being Morris Day's sidekick in one group to Prince side group with P.Petersen (who none of the Time members liked and never credited him with being a real Time member) then to Prince's sidekick in the next film and then a Revolution member who nightly dissed Morris' "Oak Tree" on stage! "Wooden Leg, I said Wooden Leg!" to being back with Morris in the end. It's all good though and he's always been an enjoyable character in his whole Prince universe. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Paul's a buddy of mine so I have to check you here. Unlike Mark Cardenas, Paul was already an intergral part of the twin cities funk scene (being the younger brother of Ricky who had worked with rockie Robbins and lots of other soul/jazz/r&b acts) and had been playing around town for years. He's still friends with jellybean and monte ... he doesn't really see the others but is cool with them all. Paul has gone on to do a lot of writing, session and tour work with major artists and has even had one of his songs nominated for a grammy and plays guitar, keys, bass AND drums,. Sings ok too.

I'm not saying that Paul is any less the musician/artist that he is and I love his work. My point was that Morris and the other founding members didn't really appreciate the new people who were put in the group and the made comment to that effect. Jerome being one of them. Still love the music they all put out and much respect but they shouldn't act like it was all good now that they are all pissed with Prince.
