Celebrity Web site TMZ.com reports that Michael Jackson has died after suffering cardiac arrest.

Paramedics had responded to a call at Jackson's home around 12:26 p.m. Pacific time Thursday and wasn't breathing when they arrived, according to the Los Angeles Times .

TMZ cites an unnamed source saying that Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived.

L. Londell McMillan, a lawyer for Jackson, did not have any information. Messages left for other Jackson associates were not immediately returned, according to The Associated Press.

Wow! This is a monumental day!!! First Farrah, now MJ????? No matter how much we riff here about MJ, we must respect his talent. There will never be another like MJ. May he rest in peace.

Good bye MJ. God must have wanted a good show tonight.
I don't have time to listen to new music, I've got too much old Prince to discover. Classic example : I was at club Nokia at the midnight show and didn't know "In a large room with no lights" . . . my bad Prince

I can't fathom this, you know? A world without MJ? We all grew up with him and his brothers.

He wrote 'We Are The World'.

Co-wrote.

It's weird to think that babies born tomorrow will never know a world where MJ is alive and making music. All of us that are 40 or 45, have ALWAYS known a world with the Jackson 5 and MJ. The same can be said for Elvis, Lennon, etc.

I'm glad it was quick though. No weird hospital reports, brain damage wobbly appearances at the Grammy's 5 years from now. Just up and out.

RIP Micheal what a sad day, my favorite artists MJ and Prince. This is like when Elvis died it took the world off gaurd. Micheal may you find happiness with the lord. God blessed us with you on this earth for to short of a time but, you made a life time of memories. My 5 year old son said "Mom it's OK we can still listen to his music". This is like not real the world without MJ. I am heart broke I was a hugh fan. I love you Micheal

I think Ludacris spelled it wrong on his Twitter page today. I was like "REALLY, MAN?!"

I would like to add in regaurds to my 5 old son!!!!! When it is all over the news and every channel you have on has Michael Jackson reports and my son is watching the news he knows MJ's music!!!!! He loves the song Thriller!!!! I wasn't rolling around crying on a fricking floor. I made a comment "I Can't believe Michael Jackson died" I thought it amazing that a 5 year old undersood the fact that MJ was gone and we could still listen to the music though he is gone. I DID NOT need to be consoled by my son.... I was not distraught!!!

Oh and... it is very sad to hear that MJ has died at such a young age - I know he has inspired many including my nephew (who sadly also died). I feel MJ fell foul of a cruel and greedy world for which he was ill prepared and ill advised. I wonder who came up with this most recent tour plan - pretty unrealistic in MHO. I am sure he will be missed by many.

I am so sorry to hear that Michael Jackson passed away. I love a lot of artist music. I know some people often had conflict with him and Prince. This is a lesson we need to show others how we feel when they are alive. I had heard that Michael often thought people did not like him because of the media. I just want to say that I love Prince also. I do not want to wait until he passes away. I have experienced a loss myself and it is hard to get through. I miss my long time friend of 17 years. We did not marry but I felt like his wife in my heart. I am sadden about Farah dying also. I can imagine how the family is feeling right now. You can not turn on the television without hearing something. The media gets on my nerves they need to take a break and report things about themselves that we never know. It takes a strong person to be in the spot light because any thing you do or anything they think you do is reported. I know I am an ordinary person and people say things about me that are not true. They may assume that they know. I say people who assume things makes an ass of themselves. I do hurt by the things people may say about me and I am sure people in the spot light also hurt too. I just wish the media could concentrate on the positive stuff especially when someone passes away. Media think about the family that is suffering. Is money and fame all you think about. I do love the things Prince talks about and that is Love. It is too much hurting out here already.

I understand the wishes for Michael to RIP however, if his soul is floating out there somewhere, looking down onto what is going on in his absence. He is not in peace. I'd imagine that he'd suffer from immense worry and guilt. His children have been displaced and his fans are extremely sick with despair. Not to mention the circus that will ensue over his estate and the custody of his children... as well as his family potentially plotting to profit from his work.

It's all very sad and it's going to get worse.
