Dez Dickerson is AWESOME!

Just got back from a Prince covers show in Nashville. The Longplayers, a cover band in Nashville, played the Purple Rain album from front to back and then played various Prince hits during the second set. Anyway, Dez, whose been living here in Nashville for many years, made a huge guest appearance and played 5 songs with the band. He played "Purple Rain," "I Wanna be your Lover," Why U Wanna Treat Me so Bad," "Little Red Corvette," and they finished the gig with him playing "1999." Needless to say, Dez rocked the house! The guy is amazing! He played the "Purple Rain" solo note for note and made it look so easy. Also played "Little Red Corvette" note for note as well. The guy still plays guitar like there's no tomorrow. What also amazed me was how good his vocals were. He sang "Purple Rain" spot on! He hit those high notes at the end PERFECTLY! I almost wanted to cry seeing him play it. It's a shame he didn't play with Prince longer. He's such a great guitarist and singer. More importantly, he's a great guy as well. Anyway, sorry for the rant, but DEZ RULEZ!

If he'd have played "Modernaire" you all would've probably rioted and tore the club down!
eyepop woot! nutty excited blowup
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Just curious, was Modernaire ever released in its entirety, either on legit release or bootleg, or is all we've ever heard from the movie clip?

Yes it was late last year, if I remember correctly. As a 12" with 4 remixes. It's been downloadable on some sites as well.
