Prince, Obama and peoples rights

Even tho I am not a USA citizen I voted for Obama many years ago...

To me.....

Its a serious conflict of interest
for a musician to be a member
of a religion that does not vote

Promotion is the same as saying Vote For Me
as is door to door pleasantries with a catch attached.

I've been thinking about putting a business sign on my door to
avoid unwarranted knocking at my door, it seems that this is a
deterrent for anyone just wanting to say "hi" but hay... I'm as
good as i can be to everyone with a cause.... anyways.....

does anyone think it strange that you can do one thing to suit
yourself and yet not do another thing that is of more benefit to the world.

its a simple view but it is a serious point of concern...

Your turn...

I think most people operate from this premise. Self first and everyone else second if at all.

Bottom line is Prince's vote was not missed nor does he have the power to influence the voting process to the point where it could affect the outcome of an election.

My only issue with Prince is don't talk about problems and government unless you are willing to be fully active and that means voting, educating others, participating in campaigns or even writing letters to politicians. If you really think none of that does any good then keep your trap shut and MYOB.

Right on!!

And, that goes for anyone who doesn't vote. Not just Prince and the JW's.

Let me get this straight. Are you saying you committed voter fraud? And you are criticizing Prince for exercising his right as a citizen of the United States in the manner he sees fit? Of all the unmitigated gall!

I wish I knew your name and where you live. I would so turn you in to the authorities. disbelief

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

No.,, i didnt break any laws... just replace the word "vote"
with "long distance support"

You may find it funny,
but there are a lot of people all around the world who are just
as celebrational as the people in the USA that could and did
vote for Obama.

Prince's vote will be missed for eternity,
and go down in the record books as spiritual
ignorance. You cant build better worlds
when you invest in something that has not
changed the force in the world since its
conception, and hay i like nearly all the
Jovi crew.

93rd best Prince fan and counting up... lol

I agree with what you're saying, but I guess I'm wondering
why the religion thinks this is a good idea..not to vote.
Why would they incorporate that in the first place...what
does it get them or not get them?

I'm not a JW, but I'm just trying to understand...generally
a religion has a reason for doing what they do....they don't
just pick things randomly from the air...lol

I agree! Anyone who chooses not to vote in elections has no right to complain when things go wrong. They gave up their voice.I really hate when anyone (regardless of their religion) says that "it doesn't matter" who the president is.Anyone who believes that is not living in the real world.

About putting signs on your door to keep away the JW's; there is a little known fact that if you call the nearest Kingdom Hall and tell them you DO NOT want them knocking on your door, they won't. Do it and save both of you some grief.
