JOHN BLACKWELL DEBUT CD PREVIEW ITS GONNA BE HOT

As I posted a while back John is working on his debut album which is now in the final stages of completion with the release date very very near.
I was given the privilege by John to listen to two of the tracks of his upcoming release and if these are anything to go by the album is gonna be hot hot hot!!!!!

The first track Amazing’is gonna have you singing along to it in no time, catchy tune, catchy lyrics, funky, reminiscent of Cameo at times, Charlie Singleton (Ex Cameo) supplies the vocals on it and worked with John on this one, love the way the vocals work on this track, the higher range combined with lower range flows along real smoothly
A real feel good song, once heard there’s no going back, your hooked.

The second track ‘Sexual Harassment’ was written by David Garfield (Karizma) and is Jazz fusion at its finest Johns playing here is incredible, I mean you get to thinking he is gonna hurt them drums at times phew!!!!!
Top class musicians , top class track which will have you turning up the volume in no time!!

John wanted this album to be varied so alongside the Jazz Fusion expect some great surprises, the two tracks I heard above are completely different styles, should be interesting

As soon as I know of a release date (Not long to go now) I will let you all know, going from what I have heard this is definitely going to be a Cd to own.

Also worth checking out is the recently released ‘Buddy Rich Memorial Concert 2008’ 3 dvd set which John was part of alongside other world class drummers (Neil Peart, Terry Bozzio, Chad Smith). Catch John’s performance of ‘No Jive’ , ‘Nutville’ and his own original track ‘Mind of J’ with a mind blowing solo!!
This can be ordered from www.drumchannel.com and is available from most Music Stores (Guitar Centre etc).
