Thanks, CarrieMpls I am missing the personal attacks I guess. I just keep reading that people have good things to say about Mayte. Unfortunately I think Mayte's mother Nell had bad timing. Mayte was just too young. The good thing for Prince was that Mayte didn't have any alterior motives. I don't think she did it to promote her belly dancing career of all things. I also don't think she was hung up on celebrities in general. Afterwards things may have changed. What was she thinking when she dated Tommy Lee? Now alot of those bikini pics make her look like she's desperately trying to get back in the limelight -unfortunately they make her look bad. She seemed very sweet, in a nonphony way. Unfortunately that man needs what he avoids: A woman that can stand up to him. Maybe Mayte can do that now (2009) but not back then. | |

I think she was like a good sales girl. She was working more than one customer at a time. She was going to sell that thing to someone, anyone, with the right amount of cash. Prince bit first. I bet everthing that her comversion was the selling point. P is proud of his conversions and it looks better if he's dating a JW. Other JW's frown on dating outside their denomination. There aren't alot of girls that would go that far on a hope and a prayer. It's obvious at this point that there was no promise made by him.

From what I've heard she was sort of an obsessed fan who got a job at Paisley, then married Prince. They never appeared to be very happy together, and I've also heard he was messing around with her while still married to Mayte. So I guess that doesn't sound too good for her. But Prince didn't try to put out a CD on her, at least. Or really try to force her on us in any way. So I had no reason to say anything about her one way or the other. I think Prince got married to Mani because at the time he was trying to follow his belief in the Bible that sex outside of marriage is wrong. If he marries Bria, I think it will be for the same reason. However, she's been conspicuously absent from these boards lately, so I'm guessing he's already through with her, and she's trying to move on. | |

I think the only person that was impressed by Bria was Travis Smiley. I don't get the feeling that that man is too hard to impress. I don't think P truely believed Bria was a great singer but I also think he was suprised that she went over like a led balloon. I don't know which magazine I read it in that the critic suggested that the buyers of Lotusflow3r just throw her CD away! I think he didn't quite get that a kept woman was really just an extra expensive harlot that impresses no one. He's only 51, not quite in his Hugh Heffner years where he has to straight out buy his women. He's only 3 years older than George Clooney, he can do better than what he has been doing. | |

The things your saying about Mayte were never said by anyone about Bria. Fans that met her or knew someone that met her had either nothing to say about her or nothing NICE to say about her. I think if P is going to go for someone who is just a hot piece of ass he should have gone for Kim Kadashian. They are both short and have great eyes. She's got all the booty a man could want plus a huge top shelf. Best of all she has her own following and would therefore bring something to the table. I am sure some people think I am nuts. But they would have been cute together and even if she sang like YOKO ONO her CD would have gotten more notice than Bria's. I've always wondered why he didn't vigorously pursue her. But then again, Kim likes em chocolate and young. She is very lovely and exotic and shapely. She looks great up against P. Prince and Mayte had lost a child, and by that time (or maybe even because of that) Mayte was liked in the purple camp by band members, girlfriends/wives etc. So Mani comes in and slides into the picture... Mani was not liked by insiders or fans online. She eventually won some people over and some people know ""what side of the bread is buttered", and made Mani feel welcomed because she was who Prince liked.. Right or wrong, it seems Prince was down after the loss of baby, and Mayte did not make him feel better. She was dealing with her own loss. I will say this... there were many poeple who thought Tamar was not a "Prince type girl"... well I truly feel the same way about Bria. Looks like Prince is not pulling the drop dead gorgeous women like he used to. Honestly she looks like the Lebanese girl who was at the beauty salone I visited today. Singers like Tamar are a dime a dozen. If she was good enough to be something special, chances are she would be something special - with or without Prince. Infact, after theexposure that she did get with Prince, you would think that would still help her even more regardless of the fate of her album. If Prince wanted it released enough, he could have released it. He could put it on the net or stick it in the sleeve with one of hisas he did for Bria. But he didnt. That doesnt mean she is entitled or derserves anything - from Prince or anyone else. She got some good breaks (being with Prince on worldwide TV and singing on a a record with him) and some bad breaks (career dying on the vine and being left on the pile of old Prince projects that were flashes in the pan). Bria is there now. She will be gone soon enough as well. EVERY Prince chick has been. To transfer any hatred to Bria because one liked Tamar and feels she didnt get something she had coming is pure stupidity and most childish on the part of several fans in my opinion. | |
