No. 1) Mayte was incredibly cute. Very hard to hate. 2) Most of us bought into Prince's "We're soulmates" bullshit. 3) After the baby, its all kinda tragic.

mayte is beautiful on the inside and out.
ive never ever heard a story about
mayte mistreating prince's fans or
prince's help.
for the most part,from speaking with her,
her head is very leveled.
its kind of scary how normal of a person
she is on the inside while her outsides are beautiful to me.
shes grown alot since the 16 yr old mayte we met in the 90's.
i do believe at once she depended on prince a great deal,
but i think that came from her being so young
and so brainwashed at an early age.
now,she is in total control and i commend her for it.
i know we werent discussing mani, but it always bothered
me that she clung to the last name "nelson"
after the marriage.
but mayte dropped his last name like a bad habit.
i also adore mayte because she seemed like a genuine
person who was willing to work and use her talent
to get to where she wanted to be.
she was always dancing with prince onstage
and even when she wasnt,she was doing
behind the scenes choreography.
she was a worker and she didnt seem to be
the "trophy wife" type.
you could also tell by the way they would look
at eachother that they were meant to be.
well,thats just my opinion.
i believe if they stuck it out longer and maybe
tried some type of counseling,the marriage could have survived.
still,you never know.
she did show up in vegas for her birthday
and he stopped the show like obama walked in.

Personally, I always loved Mayte and always loved seeing them together. (Up til those last appearances where she seemed like a hand puppet. See VIBE TV show.)

I had no ill feeling toward her at the time, no resentment, and I thought she was a talented dancer. Still is.

As for Bria, I don't even believe they're an actual couple, so really the 'jealous of Prince's woman' thing couldn't possibly apply to me.


I just think she's a ridiculous and obvious example of more poor decision making on Prince's part.
