Are the REAL Time touring this summer? Does anyone know if Morris Day & The Time is just Morris with a backing band or is it the REAL Time?

I saw that Morris Day & The Time will be near my city this summer and I was about to spend my $75 to go, but the name threw me off. Also, I went to morrisdayandthetime.com and it did not even mention the members of the band. It was all about Morris. So, I am hesitant to buy tix now. I suspect that if it was the REAL Time, they would just be listed as The Time not Morris Day & The Time.

the real band doesnt tour together anymore. only on special occasions like when they were in vegas last year.

its still a good show. i saw morris at the red wing casino back in december. SQUAAWWK! hallelujah!

It's always been Bean, Monte, Morris and Jerome. Tori was around for a long time, as was Chance (or was it Freeze) on keyboards.

However, the REAL time, including Jam and Lewis are together. Jessie too

The reason that they can't use the moniker "The Time" is because Prince has the rights to the name and needs to give them permission to use it. Thus, the group (no matter who's in the line-up these days) goes by "Morris Day And The Time". This applies to both live and recorded music.
