Wendy on the bass... I so much dig Wendy Melvoin's bass playing. Whether she's laying down funk for Kate Earl's "Officer," doing fluid loop-de-loops on Terence Trent D'arby's "Sweetness" or intricate spiderwebs of color with Lisa on "Song About," Wendy routinely kicks my tail as a bass player.
Some of my faves: Skeleton key Crack in the Pavement Someday I Every day White (all of Neil Finn's One Nil/One All tracks)

Sideshow is kewl.

Wendy is so cute She should grow her hair out again That's the layered music Prince's stuff is lacking at times, and some of their stuff lacks his touch

I know Incubus is credited with production on that album but the rhythm section is sooooo similar to Wendy's bass parts on "One All"/"One Nil" and grooves on other projects, that I 99% sure she's not credited for everything she had her hands in on that one. [Edited 5/11/09 16:52pm]
