They looked more like a Rick James project than a P side. I can't even remember anything that stands out about these guys or their music.....shame. The Time is the best side project ever created. Under the tutelage of Rick James...they would probably still be around.

Hmmmm... I know a musician on here who looks like he was straight out of Mazarati.... and that's BEFORE they were even formed...! And I KNOW he's definitely not a 'faggot'... 100% ALL hetro....

They were the FUNKIEST band since The Time, yet Prince ripped off Madea's Closet n dressed them.
Or MAYBE that was the name of the thrift store he took 'em shopping to.....

80s B-Side of the day: "Don't Leave Me Baby" by Mazarati (1986)
I agree with you guys, this is a superb song It's a shame they didn't have room to put it on the album. If one track had to be removed to make place for it,I would take out "Suzy".It's a good song, but this is better.

I never understood why ICC was such a piece of poot compared to their first two albums. It's in last spot of their four studio albums. If it weren't for those two singles (which really were the only reason people gave a shit about that album), the album would have been melted into a fruit bowl by now by the masses.

Mazarati is tight whats all the bad talk about them
both albums they made were legit(first one is classic, arguably 1 of the best albums 2 come out of mpls).there isnt a song by them i cant listen to You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

I only just discovered Mazarati and I'm seriously liking them.
Although I AM deaf in one ear at the mo so I'll have to hear how they sound in a week or so...

I think that when Jam and Lewis were fired from the Time in 1983 (and then Monte Moir departing soon thereafter),it affected the next album.Morris and Jesse have both said that things changed after that...their heart wasn't totally into it anymore. They were just going through the motions. In fact,by the time 'Ice Cream Castles' was released, they had already broken up.For his part,Prince was busy with alot of different projects in 1983/84 and I don't think he devoted enough time to 'Ice Cream Castles'.Two of the songs ("Chili Sauce","If The Kid Can't Make You Come") aren't even real "songs"...they're more like little skits. The title track doesn't feel like a Time song."Jungle Love" and "My Drawers" are the only great tracks but even these two songs can't compete with the best moments on the first two albums.Mazarati's album contains all the first-rate funk that 'Ice Cream Castles' was missing.

I know the story about the band, and the songs on the album. My point was that Prince could have still put better songs on that album. "Jerk Out" could have been on there, then at least half the album would have been hit worthy.

Prince had a film out featuring different bands and some tunes from the time in particular that weren't from their old albums so Knock out an album and take advantage of it.

It would have been better to do a 2 disk Graffiti Bridge type set. Prince on one and the other acts on the other. We would of at least been spared the rubbish that was released, and could have had a full version of "Moderaine" way before now.

Now people we can hate on ICC all we want. But it does contain their two biggest songs! Now had they stayed together it may have been bigger cause they may have been able to squeak "My Drawers" into a single or a hype live number.

it depends on your taste. its a newjackswing/stripped funk combination that works well for the most part
the drums and bass are very crisp on the album. sir casey terry sounds very different on a lot of the songs, for better or worse. i prefer his singing style on the first album/unrealeased demo tracks. but i know most people didnt like his voice on the first joint. its hard to find the legit copy and whether you get the bootlegged special edition or not its still going 2 cost upwards of 100$.if you like "the saga of man" and "the woman thang"(try youtube) then i would suggest picking it up Yeah You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

This was a great album. They were definately the best thing to come out on the Paisley Park label after "Purple Rain" and definately better than anything Prince himself was putting on his own albums during the late 1980s. I love a glam look but their look was a little too glam. Oh well, better too glam than straight looking because I've always found 100% straight to be extremely dull. Andy is a four letter word.
