I would have loved to have heard an entire Vanity album produced by Jesse. Too bad that didn't work out.

My favorite tracks from Ta Mara's second album were "I Saved My Love" and "Gone In Love".

Of the five Jesse tracks on Sue Ann's Blue Velvet LP, I thought "You're So Precious" was the best.

From The Five Heartbeats! How could I miss that one! That's one of those tracks where you wouldn't know that Jesse was involved with it. You can't tell from the way it sounds. Great song.

I unfortunately don't have the entire of Sue Ann's Blue Velvet album. I'm going to try and track it down. I haven't heard "You're So Precious". but based upon how much I dig "Fiction" I definately need to get a hold of that album.

I had to pull my Sue Ann record out and play it after I saw this thread. It's been years since I listened to those songs. The "Rock Steady" cover is the weakest of the bunch.

Another forgotten Jesse track is "I Need U" from Paula Abdul's first album. Not anything spectacular to me, but it probably should be mentioned.

I think Vanity did her best vocals when she worked with Jesse. Other than that, I dig the Da'Krash album. Blueberry Gossip, the title track, is BANGIN'.

nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."

A little corny at times, but Kool Skool had its moments! "Now That She's Gone" is awesome.

I might be the only one, but I like the songs Jesse did for Janet Jackson: "Pretty Boy", "Fast Girls" and the sort of dub medley of the two, "French Blue".

There's a lot of songs mentioned on this thread that I didn't know about. Does anyone have a complete list of Jesse Johnson-produced acts/tracks? biggrin

Oh, and I just bought the Breakfast Club and Pretty In Pink soundtracks with Jesse songs on them. On CD. woot!

Jesse is a prime example of how a truck load of talent doesnt mena squat if you cant get your stuff together. Prince is a genius because he kept his sh together for all these years. He planned ahead and stuck to it. He worked hard and stayed clean. Sly Stone is a musicial hero to Prince and Jesse - just seems Jesse has chosen to end up like him.

Lovesexy82

"Affection," "Summertime Love" and "Cold Lonely Nights" from Ta Mara and the Seen.

"Nights Like This" from The Five Heartbeats Soundtrack.

I also have to mention "You Wear It Well," by DeBarge I know he did not produce the song. But that slammin' guitar solo near he does near the end is enough to warrant a mention here.
