Clare Fischer did strings for Atlantic Starr I bought Atlantic Starr greatest hits and noticed in the liner notes that Clare Fischer wrote and played (?) the strings on either Secret Lovers or Always (sorry too lazy to find it again now).
Thought that was cool! For those who don't know: Clare Fischer did the string arrangement on The Family album which was revolutionary for Prince at the time to combine orchestral strings with his typical tracks (although technically W&L did some strings on Raspberry Beret a bit earlier and Novi Novogg (sp?) did Cello on Sheila's 1st album). Still, Mr. Fischer's strings on the Family Album created a new, unique sound, those "moving" elements on top of the rhythm tracks.

If U love Clare's arrangements of sweeping, cinematic sophistication check out the Rufus featuring Chaka Khan album "Ask Rufus". Prince's taste for quality surely came from a few spins of this! I know mine did! If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!
