If Wendy and Lisa were to sing on MPLSound...

Given the fact that Wendy and Lisa added their voices to several Planet Earth tracks, I thought it would be cool that given the theme of the MPLSound CD was a great throwback to his nostalgic 80s sound, Wendy and Lisa should have done the same to at least one of the tracks on the MPLSound disc.

If I were to have one song I'd have them sing backup on, it would have to say that "Dance 4 Me" would be perfect for their contribution.

Strictly hypothetical, but your votes would be greatly appreciated.

Just an FYI update. According to Wendy & Lisa themselves, they didn't do any vocal work on Planet Earth (it would have been nice if they were asked to though). They only provided instrumental contributions on a few tracks, that they sent to Prince, who then picked & chose what he wanted to use. It was how he wanted to work, so they did what they could to accommodate I guess

I do think that MPLSound would have benefited from W&L's input. Maybe one day a more collaborative project will come about.

Dance 4 Me, U're Gonna C Me(I think their musical touch would have helped take this song to another notch

The songs on MPLSound are just fine without W&L. I'm not a W&L hater so don't throw no shade on me.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

On the forums they state themselves THEY DO NOT do any of the vocals on the album/songs. Yelocloud stated it plain as the nose on a face.

If you want to know WHO provides the vocals on it maybe u should ask Prince himself.

They were not needed for MPLSound at all. In fact, I think that Prince is the only one on that disc if I'm not mistaken.

When Prince releases a throwback album, perhaps they'll participate.

I doubt different backing vox could save that disaster of an album.

Already stated, but just to re-iterate: W&L have stated they only added instrumentation to tracks on PE, not vocals.

I agree. It's not about the "Revolution" anymore, it's about Prince who has moved on and every now and then, ask other artists he's worked with in the past, for their contribution. He's done fine since the W&L days. The "Revolution" is not returning anytime soon, unless P calls up every member that was part of the band then, and decides to do a one-time tour with all of them, and of course that will be respected and appreciated, but geez guys, he's moved on since 1984, and is still surviving without any of them.

not so much their vocals but maybe a few 'you've got to be kidding, right?" would come in handy for MPLSoUND. He badly needs someone to inform him of what is working and what is not. and some trusted opinions other than his own. Just like the days when he HAD some good ears around him instead of a crew of "yessirs" (sound of paycheck clearing the bank follows closely behind) dead ending the creative process.

I so agree - this 3 CD set is disastrous!
