I never understood the criticism that Prince gets for being color struck. I've been a fan of his since I was a child, and for the most part, he's always seemed to be with (or date) women of color.
Also, I'm a bit confused as to what is "light skinned" anyway. To me it's relative. Not that it makes any difference what color these women are, but personally, I never considered Vanity, Manuela or Chelsea Rogers etc. to be light skinned. They aren't dark, but to me light skinned is more like Mayte, Jill Jones, Mariah Carey and Prince when he isn't tanned. Anyway, I say let him date/marry who he wants. Good people and good looks come in all hues. Oh, and in case it matters, I'm black.

Mani has very curly hair like one of my friends and when its natural you could get the comb stuck. Vanity had limp straight hair. Chelsea's hair looks to be straightened. Now if ur talking long hair then yeah i say Prince definitely got a preference there. I think most guys like long hair so they can play with it. I know guys that like short hair if the cut/style is really hot.

Thank you. I must add that I don't know why people still equate having "good hair" to being white, mixed or anything other than black anyway. Either hair is properly taken care of or it isn't. Anyone can have "good hair", bad hair, long hair or short. It has nothing to do with race or skin tone. To me, labeling hair good or bad based on race, is such an old school mentality. But back on topic. If you're saying that Prince has a long hair preference, I'll agree because that appears to be so. I just don't see how that makes him colorstruck. He doesn't seem to dislike kinky hair, he just likes it long. Personally, I prefer long hair on most women too. I don't think that makes me a bad person.

Yeah I asked b/c I'm thinking "WTF? People still talk like this?" You say you have a problem with the term yet you seem to embrace it like its a fact, like one type hair really is better than another. "good hair" is a figment of one's imagination; an archaic mentality perpetuated by people who get off on divisiveness. you were the one accusing prince of being stuck on color and so called good hair, and I just think that's a load of crap!!!

well my daughter has "bad hair".
She has cork screw curls, very thick and super long. If I could, I would beat her hair. Just kidding. Truthfully, she has what some would say "good hair, or nice grade of hair" But truthfully, I think "good hair" is hair that is easy to maintain, easy to care for, healthy and does what you want it to. By that definition, Jill Scott has "good hair" "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

Umm, yes I am. But this is not an argument. If U look on the cover of Musician Magazine (September, 1983) for example, which is one of the closest and best lit photos of Prince's face (showing his eyes upfront, without special angles or odd/dark lighting), U will see his eyes are hazel/light brown. But as a truce, I'll just say we see colors differently. But unlike your sentiment above, this doesn't mean much to me at all. I mean really, what is knowing the exact color of his eyes doing for me in life? Absolutely nothing. Therefore, meaningless to me.
