The band and backing vocals werent as tight as when they did Turn me Loose but apart from the harmonica dude i didnt feel the need to cringe. P's performance was what I expected and made me smile

OT he does looks very frail and waaay to thin, last time he was this thin he had no name... 'Hell A' and its rake thin ladies might be influencing him a bit too much & not in a good way

Prince is far from irrelevant and the general consensus is that his Leno performace was pretty good. Not amazing or mindblowing, but absolutely, certainly not a "car crash".

I love Jill, but (for her own reasons) she has a negative attitude towards Prince, and therefore that's a biased opinion, just as many of us here have biased opinions towards Prince because we are big fans of his.

I'll tell you something though, I've spoken to people who don't give a fuck about Prince one way or the other, and who therefore have a more neutral opinion, and they certainly would not agree with either of the statements that Jill supposedly made.

Ms. Jones is entitled to her opinion. It may be true...The performance may have been subpar, but I could not stay-wake to see it. I'm sure that it will appear on Leno's site soon.

Still, Prince is not what he once was and neither is she. That's part of the job.

1) that is Jill Jone's facebook

2) I have talked with Jill numerous times about a various amout of subjects and she isn't afraid to share her opinion on anything.

3) she's honest about her OPINIONS of things Purple does not hate Prince (in fact, I think she just has the bar set very high on what she expects from him and I think most of her memories from her purple past make her smile)

4) she's one of the sweetest people I've met and that's not just because she sang "Happy Birthday" to me on my birthday show last year

5) back to retirement

JJ entitled to her opinion. Once you've worked with Prince and fucked him you can say whatever you damn well please. I think there's still love there though, else why comment at all?

Jill and Prince had not been on the best terms for nearly two decades. I could be wrong and I dont know either of them personally but if Prince still had some grudge against St. Paul for left the Family back in 1985 and havent spoken with him since then Prince can still have some grudge against Jill and vice versa.

She also had some type of contract with Paisley Park and Prince and it was so restrictive that basicially mess up her singing career but she can't get mad at anyone but herself for signing that strict contract.

With St. Paul and Jill Jones attended at the Family Jamm back in 2003, no wondered Prince didnt show up.

Too bad Rick James and Teena Marie didn't took Jill Jones in as their protege because that girl would have been big in the r&B/dance market back in the 80s but instead she kept waiting on Prince who was doing dozne of projects then to pay attention to her hoping he would

Firstly - Jill is perfectly entitled to her opinion (just as everybody is). If anything
She's MORE entitled to it when it comes to Prince, since she actually worked
with him for years and knows him personally. How many people here can say
that?... thought so.

Secondly, and more importantly IMO - these comments were posted by her on
her PRIVATE facebook account. It was NOT posted publicly, and personally
I think that disclosing what she said in private to her facebook friends here on
a public Prince site is a breach of trust.

If I was her, I'd be very disappointed with the threadstarter for publicly posting
what was intended as a PRIVATE personal opinion.
