jill jones worked with prince during some of his most creative years and i think, looking back at his body of work and previous influence in pop music, it's a completely fair assessment for her to make.

Jill has been one of few from the camp, along with maybe Alan Leeds and W&L, who have been open and real with their comments over the years. I find it refreshing. And by the way, Jill has a nice following in the indie and dance crowds -- so relax. | |

if anyone is qualified to speak their opinion on prince, jill would be high on the short list. You are wrong here. If Jill said Prince was a jerk she would be well in her rights from personal interaction with him to make that statement. But whether someone is "relevant" or not has nothing to do with your personal interaction with them. I assume she was meaning culturely. its pretty stupid to argue someone isn't relevant right after u view them on the Tonight show. When was the last time she was on the Tonight show as the featured artist? My guess is never. So since she and he are both performers I don't see how she can call his relevance into question without it pointing back on her own obscurity. Whatever Prince did to her he also gave her whatever name recognition she's ever had plus a kick-ass album of songs. Those songs are his creative gifts that will remain alive forever as long as there are Prince fans to discover them. In other words she is an ungrateful bitch. | |
