John Blackwell and Rhonda Smith playing with Prince and Bria

So far each night of Prince's 3-night residency run with The Tonight Show with Jay Leno has featured a different lineup of Prince's current and previous rhythm sections. Cora/Josh with the funk (MPLSOUND), Bland/Sonny with the hard rock (Lotus Flower), what better way to cap off the run than with Johnny Blackwell and Sexy Rhonda laying down something very sensual and chill from the Elixir record. But this three-night run was such a cool idea and obviously he's getting a lot of press and publicity that it may do enough to convince casual Prince fans that stopped following him 20 years ago shell $11.98 plus tax to hear what he's been working on lately.

I am sure that is the idea. Prince deserves the attention jsut for the innovative genius marketing that he does. The innovative genius music is relaly the icing on the cake for casual fans. But I think the sensibilities of people today have degraded to a point that high quality art simply will not be supported and presented like the garbage that dominates the minds of the masses. Prince wont ever see what he did 20 years ago because there will always be someone willing to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Young people are more ignorant, selfish, and violent than any generation before them. SOmeone singing about real love and not taking their arses out ot cursing simply wont get their attention. And unfortunately, the establishment looks to them as the source of popular culture.

Comeback:
I think this might do it for his so-called comeback. Prince is a unique artist. He hasn't lost a thing..... You may question some of his antics but he still gets it done. He rocked last night and the night before..... I know these 3 cds will please us hard core "Prince-heads" I have been a "Prince-head" since '79....when I was a shorty.....now I am a grown-ass man... and he is still my favorite funk artist..... May U live 2 C da dawn.....

Since he is playing on the outside stage he better turn the place out. Not the place for the mellow stuff.
