yeah i'm in agreement on that one ..and some of the lyrics have been changed from tamar's 2 bria's overall i like this album makes me think of when shelby's album drops will redhead stepchild b on there? man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I listened to this album again after seeing her interview. Awesome! It is hands down the best proedtoge release to date and Bria's voice has real depth and meaning behind it!! I think this album shows that they truly love eachother and he is definately the one she is singing about in the song Everytime. Can a love like that exist in real life, GOD i hope so!!! What a beautiful album.

The Good:
The arrangement, instrumentation and production is top notch. My favorite songs are Here I Come and 2Night. The Bad: Bria's vocals ruin what could have been a great album. Her voice is as generic as they come. Replace Bria with Janet or Ciara or Cassie or Ashanti and you would have the same results. My God, the woman oohs and coos throughout the entire album. The seductive singing on every song is overkill, but I guess she did what she had to do to mask her weak vocals. The Sade comparison is just ridiculous. Sade has one of the most distinctive voices in modern music and to mention her name in the same sentence as Bria has my head spinning. And since when has Sade sung about what her man does to her sexually. An orger once said that instead of flowers, Prince gives his girlfriends record deals. To end this post on a positive note, Prince hit it out of the park with the music.

First chorus... "Elixer, elixer, elixer"... hmmm, that sounded a bit rude??? No stop being a perv James, Prince is past that kind of stuff now... Second chorus "Elixer, elixer, elixer". Stop it. Third chorus "Elixer, elixer, elixer. YES HE DOES". YES HE DOES!!! Prince the perv is back!!! As for the 4th chorus, I laughed. Great stuff. Nice album title. [Edited 3/27/09 16:49pm] Amen!

Everytime may be a bit too sweet for some, but it's syrupy goodness to me! The more I listen to it, the more I love it To each is own. Im right with ya !!! Violin is the sweetest instrument it's the sound of wood crying once the ax hits its roots I love the violin too. It's beautiful.

I'm kind of glad that others came here to say they think this album is a disaster the instrumentation is brilliant of course but Bria's voice isn't and this voice could be replaced by so many others. Didn't you had an upper expectation when you first saw a picture of her? She is a tall good looking woman and I just expected a voice that is sexy and strong instead of a voice that is at some parts of her songs sometimes actually bleak. And I just don't get this big hype about her.She is pretty but don't have a great voice. But some of you here comparing her to a couple of "real" vocalists. Don't wanna hate. I'm sorry. It's cute. But it's not getting me, I doubt I'd ever crave to listen to it. I like Home. But I'm not feeling like I'm in her shoes with the songs. If that makes any sense. Feels more like it would appeal to people who would like her singing to them. mmmm...chocolates

I'm reposting since I made the time to actually review the music.
The Album is not terrible. Its actually ok. The songs are well constructed and it doesnt suck. It does have some great melodys becaause I was singing some later, but that doesnt mean shit cus Im always singing Womanizer and we know that song is a piece of shit. Now because you were comparing this to Goapele and Amel I listened to them right after. The feeling is kind of like this: if someone gives you frozen yougurt sweetened with asparateme you like, dammmmn that shit is good. An hour later someone gives you an italian made gelato and your like fuck the youghurt!! And thats exactly what I felt after I listened to these other artists afterwards. Now Bria herself has a really thin voice. That is a fact. I dont think anyone would deny this if you really listen. It doesnt have depth. And that isnt a bad thing, there are plenty of successful singers that dont have that (Christina Millian, Britney, Cassie, etc) But the music WITH the singer doesnt make for the same categories as these ladies. Especially since she mostly coos thru the music. I wouldnt call it singing to be real. Its like that talk singing. That being said, I think ALL THIS LOVE :* out of 5 is great. Prince really did work with her voice and maximized it to sound richer and fuller with lush backings, vocal manipulation box or whatever that is, and funky little track. Its good, I really do like this song and will be the one that rips to the ipod for the cool down mode. HERE EYE COME (no stars): I think the lyrics and her singing are contrived. Dont like it. HOME : The chorus is catchy but the lyrics again, Prince you are getting cheezy on me. I think the lyrics sound thin because she doesnt give any feeling emotion behind it. And the way she "sings" DO for DOOR is aggravating. Again that fake contrived sexy feeling. SOMETHING U ALREADY KNOW 1/2: I love the melody and instrumentation and chorus in this but the lyrics are trying to be sexy but I feel like they sound forced. Like Prince was trying to chanel his own inner girl but making Bria sing "sho nuff kicking it" and PRINCE singing this would make this a whole different song. A BETTER SONG. This is a song about a lover telling her lover some crazy intimate things and her voice doesnt deliver. Prince should have kept this one for himself. EVERYTIME (negative one star) If you played the music without lyrics or vocals its nice leisurely muzak you would hear at a beach resort. It sounds like Burt Baccharach or some old guy shit. Dont like it. 2NITE 1/2 Its the best with her cooing voice, better than All This Love. But I dont particularly like the song that much. Sounds like JLO LITE. ANOTHER BOY KEPT WOMAN I skipped over these two after the first few seconds. Another Boy sounds like a dumb early 90s pop song Stacy Q would sing (dont ask how I know about her my ghetto cousin is to blame) OMG I JUST REALIZED SHE SOUNDS LIKE STACY Q!! Kept Woman, I didnt like Tamar's version and I definitely dont like Brias version. IMMERSION. pretty trippy weird music but it sounds like Prince and her voice is over manipulated. ELIXER :*: Best song. Prince's voice in falsetto and hers barely audible is a perfect match. My personal opinion you need an obscure whisper girl voice singing with Prince so it doesnt obstruct or Rosie Gaines voice with that sound that captures and complements his . 2 out of 5 stars. Your turn!

here comparing her to a couple of "real" vocalists. You don't have to have a voice like Jennifer Hudson to sound good. She sings better than plenty of multi-plantinum selling artists (Madonna, Janet, Kylie, Britney). Thats all the reason Prince would need to make an album with her. Change it one more time..

Yeah overall this is the one of the better proteges album.
But if it wasnt attached to Prince (musically and physically as in 3rd cd) I would never buy it and it probably wouldnt sell on its on merit. And before we throw the HATER word around, its just simple truth. Shes older, the songs and music SOUND older and she would have a following but it would be small. If this wasnt Prince's music maybe 10 out 100 orgers would buy it. Maybe. All the critics panned it and the fans I would say about 40 percent like it. But like I said if not attached to P, how successful would it be? In the end it doesnt matter. Shes can claim a #1 or #2 album this week, She can claim an exclusive deal with Target and she got paid (assuming but knowing Prince ) and has purple sperm all up in her. So go Bria bounce your plastic titties you made it!!!! [Edited 4/3/09 18:01pm]

Home is my jam! The chorus sounds like waves of water to me. I love the words and they should consider remixing this for the clubs.
I think Bria's voice sounds great in all the songs. Certain people are way too hard on her but I think she did a great job. Go girl, you and Princey made a sexy lil album! From a former quaker, 4 out of 5 stars. You done good and I cant wait to see what you all do next. Cuzzin'... when Spooky say dead, u better say died.
