He outdid himself for this protoge hands down a great collaboration!!
This was a perfect addition to the other two albums. Though Prince is the mastermind behind this project her participation cannot be discredited. She rose to the challenge and delivered a solid vocal performance. I appreciated the live feel on this album and the lyrics are impressive. Smooth chillout and sexy. 4 out of 5 stars and maybe even better than that as time goes on.

I think "Home" should have been the first single. I like "everytime" but its too subtle to be the song hes introducing her to the world with.
I love Elixer too... great song! Change it one more time..

My love for my future wife aside, this is a dope record. She killed it and did Prince and us fans proud. This is a record musicians can and will appreciate and she mos def held her own. She was saaaaangin on Kept Woman yo, i felt that. "yes I am" "oh yes i am" Thats my kinda woman WORD. Prince is out of his natural mind for letting this one go. committed

This is what I said too!!! I can't believe it I guess I like jazzy like music more than I thought Everytime is starting to grow on me as well. She has a "pretty" voice. She can't SANG, but she can sing so these type of smooth slow paced songs works for her. My favorite so far is Something U Already Know and a very close second is Elixer. Love it!! follow me on twitter - Lovenharmony1 aka @DAPfan2c

Didn't really have time to listen to this album, but accidently played '2Nite'.
This very simple track just feels better and better. It really has a 'club' style to it and it would be great to hear this remixed and loud while dancing. I'm really surprised by the effectiveness of the track. Minneapolis disco?

chaka's npg album or such. it's post emancipation prince r'n'b. i would have minded if these songs had been on his own album but collected here and performed by bria i dig them and appreciate them. her voice is nice enough, i don't understand all the hate toward this woman. it's not like she's ever done anything to any of you. oh and by the way, the title track is a very good track it's my fav of the album. I'm diggin the title track as well To Sir, with Love

Fair play! This isn't a bad album by any stretch of the imagination. Bria's voice suits the songs well in the main and the quality of tracks and coherency of the album is, in my opinion, better than the Mayte and Tamar discs. It's not outstanding but by no means poor and serves up some solid downtempo lounge/jazz/soul grooves. Reminds me a lot of Santessa and a bit of the Brand New Heavies and some of the stuff by Sugar Rush Beat Company. Don't think it'll be played an awful lot but a lot more than I thought it would be played! Works well as part of the package but, I'm sure like others, would have preferred a third proper P album. these are the days of wild........

2nite has that classic Prince feel to it. The vocal delivery is very reminiscent of Sheila E's "Boys Club".

Im really feeling this album. Girlfriend represented with her voice, I am not mad at her. My favorite so far is Elixer it makes me wanna have some hot relations! The standouts (for me) are definitely "Another Boy", "Kept Woman" and "Something U Already Know".
The name Sade (in any way, shape, form or context) should've never never never never never never never never crossed his lips when he introduced her. Nothing, and I mean nothing (vibe, music, style, vocals) can even begin to fill any kind of Sade-void. 2nite had potential, too bad the lyrics make it so appropriate for a Kingdom Hall social. It sounds like a lesser version of Sheila's "Boy's Club". Everytime is cornier than a turd after a 4th of July picnic.

Nothing GREAT about any of it. Subpar for the most part- but I do like "Something U Already Know". "Kept Woman" is like a lesser Money Don't Matter 2Nite. Again- not terrible, but the blame rests squarely on the writing (sorry). There are a number of artists who do chill music WAY better and more interesting. That dance track "2Nite" is laughable. Now I'll go listen to the other two cds..wanted to get that one out of the way.
PS- i tried NOt to listen to hard to the words for fear of REALLY disliking it. [Edited 3/25/09 20:40pm]

NouveauDance said: Elixir - Another slow mid-90s type number. Prince duets, not sure if his whiney falsetto adds anything, could've done more with a deep baritone to offset Bria's own brittle whisp. I love the strings on this one, but the vocals grate on me.
Is this the only song that includes Prince on vocals? [Edited 3/25/09 22:13pm]

It's a good chilled out cd .... but hear this! and hear this good!
NO one will EVER REPLACE SADE OR HER BAND AKA SWEETBACK closest thing to come within a few feet was AYA mainly because SWEETBACK was involved, Not making her into Sade...but pushing her into chill/dance/underground category. Back to Bria ...good job arrangement works with Clare perfectly. [Edited 3/26/09 19:01pm] [Edited 4/28/09 22:46pm]
