Do you people listen with your eyes or your ears? This Bria chick sounds nothing like Amel. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say this: TECHNICALLY...Amel is a better vocalist than Sade. Now this is coming from one of the if not THE biggest Sade fan on the board. I have heard Amel do things with her voice that are nothing short of amazing. Now, tonewise, I prefer Sade by a longshot but speacking strictly on vocal ability, Amel is a monster. Bria is not. Amel's really a jazz singer masquerading as an R&B singer. Bria is closer to Goapele as far as vocal ability goes but Goapele has way more R&B in her voice. You can hear pain, longing and desire in her voice. Bria's not bad but her voice lacks that "umph". I can't believe the comparisons to Amel, though. Seriously. The only thing they have in common is "breathy" singing. That's where it ends. I agree with you 100% Amel has a vocal RANGE. And, I am a HUGE Sade fan to the point that I have been all up in Stuart Matthewman's (he is one of Sade's music producers and a talent that needs to be recognized! www.cottonbelly.com) myspace page and facebook page trying to get hints when Sade is about to release new material! I feel you. I do love Sade but Amel pierced my heart to such a point that I have to have ALL released material of hers for her range is that amazing to me. However, I don't care for all of the background music production of some of her music endeavors. I feel that she needs to work with Stuart Matthewman for he can capture her raw talent.
