So I am watching it right now and Eric Benet just showed up with a girl and I think it was Mani. Did anyone see this? Was that her?

This video is interesting. At the risk of being called a hater, it solidifies something that I have long suspected about Mani - she loves the limelight. Did you notice how she scooted in between Eric and India. She looks like she desperately wants to be asked something or recognized. Finally she makes a comment without being prompted. I don't know. Something about her says she fell in love with fame while with Prince. She often tries to portray herself as a normal, everyday, no frills person, but her actions over the years belie that.

I applaud her for her charity work, as I do the millions of other people around the world who do charity work as well. However, I think she often tries to portray herself as if she in not affected or attracted to fame, but to me she is.

Also, I remember people saying Prince made her "skinny." However, she looks a bit skinny here to me, pretty but skinny.

miss thang loves the limelight alright...its all about status. there's plenty of people out there content with being merely associated with a famous person. you get to go the parties, have your pic taken, get mentioned on page 6, meet other famous people and their not so famous side kicks/partners. her charity work never minimized her stalkerish tendencies in my eyes. as long as nobody gets their heart broken i guess its all good. sad but good.

Whether she likes fame or not should not be an issue anymore. She left Prince 5 years ago and has moved on with her life since then, so did Prince.

I saw her on the Apprentice show,too. I also thought the model was a bit over zealous. Mani seemed to take it in stride. I even saw her begin to open her purse to pay for one of the cupcakes. I will give her the benefit of the doubt about you all alleging her trying to steal the spotlight. Eric always motions for her to come forward so he is the one including her in the photo-ops which I think is a very gallant and gentlemanly thing to do. He seems to be very proud of his lady. To me, ain't a damn thing wrong with that!

I didn't think she was trying to steal the spotlight... and I have never been in the "Mani camp".

I had issues with Eric cheating on Halle, I had issues with Mani participating in affair with a married Prince...

but for this relationship, both are unattached, seemed to enjoy each other's company and look good doing it.

It seems Eric wants Mani to be with him, and proud to show her off. Her comment was totally appropriate... she was teasing/joking with her man, who hasn't done that before?

I think her 'charity" efforts are twofold... always wanted to do something for people since she was a little girl, and for a rich celebrity man, that desire to do something unselfish may be attractive and quaint (and could be part of Mani's allure to celebrity rich men, that she is beautiful and now rich but yet she wants to do something for the less fortunate instead of all the other hollywood ex wives club members).

But at the same time, I also think that Mani likes the attention... and really who could blame her? I think I might enjoy getting my picture taken too and wear pretty clothes and talk to reporters and they listen and print what I say.

I don't agree with the criticism of Mani with Eric.

I wish them the best, I really do.

Cant stand that shit. Gum chewing and smacking. A neighbors kid does that and I crack on him with a quickness. She knows too. LOL

Nevermind. Mani is incredibly beautiful for sure, I think she looks very good in the spotlight . Take a close look when they show the "crowd" for a short while instead. Isn't it Prince standing there in the middle, a bit down to the right corner, talking very lively to...could it be Esperanza Spalding?
